    Hi Darkelf,
I've just caught up with this tale. I'm about to do battle with Rob Way (they now have three debts for our household) and am about to CCA them. I probably should've done it bloody ages ago!! Thanks for the ongoing updates, they're really helpful.

    Hey all you good folks!,
Am paying £5 a month on debt of £4700 and second dca has taken it over now (robinson way).
They have written asking to discuss my situation, they say my options are to continue with my payment plan, discuss my financial repayment arrangement to ensure it reflects my financial circumstance, or pay full balance or discuss potential settlement.
    The debt is from 2005.
I was going to write to them asking what a settlemtn figure would be?
just too see what level they will reduce it by
    what do you all think?

When did you start paying this back?

what I mnean is has there ever been a 6 years gap of you not paying or acknowleging this in writing?
Still rolling rolling rolling...... :) <

Just thinking......should the cca be passed on with the debt when sold to Robinson? If not then what do these companies buy? If not the paperwork.

    No, this never happens.

DCA`s buy debts in bulk, usually in the form of a spreadsheet, with a name, address, and outstanding balance, that's it.

The DCA then contacts you, at your last known address, if you have moved, then they attempt to trace you, hence the term "phishing", they might letterbomb a few dozen people with a similar name, see if anyone responds.

Paperwork is never sold on with a debt, its usually held by the original creditor for a period of around 6 years, sometimes less, that's why its always important to demand they prove you owe the money, before you attempt to pay them.

    hey,
no, nothing since my last post.
I am waiting to see what happens and not sure what to expect if anything.
if they sell it on again then i guess you just ask for another cca with the new people and so it goes on.
I am hoping the paperwork has been binned after all these years.
    How are you getting on?
