Hey all you good folks!,
Am paying £5 a month on debt of £4700 and second dca has taken it over now (robinson way).
They have written asking to discuss my situation, they say my options are to continue with my payment plan, discuss my financial repayment arrangement to ensure it reflects my financial circumstance, or pay full balance or discuss potential settlement.
The debt is from 2005.
I was going to write to them asking what a settlemtn figure would be?
just too see what level they will reduce it by
what do you all think?

Rob way are useless Muppets.
Could be worth asking for a copy of your credit agreement before you start negotiations. They won't have it.
You then have a position of strength to begin offering very low percentages. They will be looking to get rid of this as you're only paying Such a low amount.
Worth considering a cca request I think.I'm Debt Free :j 2/09/2013

No properly executed agreement means no CCJ in court !!

Right, this takes a bit of explaining, firstly only a court can rule if an agreement is enforceable or not, your debt dates from 2005 ? so if you make a CCA request, the correct response would be a copy of your agreement, signed and containing all the correct prescribed terms, ie, credit limit, how and when payment is to be made etc etc,, if any of those terms are missing, or its not signed, then you can challenge them on this, it could mean the debt is unenforceable or it could mean they would have a hard time getting a CCJ against you, but as I said before, only a court can say for definite, but creditors usually shy away if there are paperwork problems.
You would need to get the agreement looked at if you are unsure of what you are looking for.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. hey all,
Well after all this time i have recieved a letter from Robinson way.........offering me 50% off the debt to settle.
That would be a settlement of £2340.
This debt is not on my credit file any longer and i am currently paying £5 a month interest free.
so....considering what these people pay for the debt...what would any of you do with this offer?
I am tempted to reply offereing 500-1000 to settle....and i am also tempted to just keep paying as i am and ignore it.
I would like this to be gone, but its not really affecting my day to day life, so not sure what to do with it.
Thoughts please everyone..
thanks
