    hey all,
Well after all this time i have recieved a letter from Robinson way.........offering me 50% off the debt to settle.
That would be a settlement of £2340.
This debt is not on my credit file any longer and i am currently paying £5 a month interest free.
so....considering what these people pay for the debt...what would any of you do with this offer?
I am tempted to reply offereing 500-1000 to settle....and i am also tempted to just keep paying as i am and ignore it.
I would like this to be gone, but its not really affecting my day to day life, so not sure what to do with it.
    Thoughts please everyone..
    thanks
    Rich.

Did you do a CCA request ?

A 50% discount suggests to me they believe they may have problems providing paperwork, if asked.

Do the CCA request before you do anything else.

Why would you want to pay it when its not on your CRA?

Sounds like you have been used as a cash cow for many years, sorry.

For a laugh, I'd send off a CCA and see if they bother replying. Chances are they will then pass it to another DCA.

If I sent you a letter saying you owed me £4500 but I would accept £1500, would you pay it?

Do you actually want to be helped ?
If this is not on your credit files, then it sounds like the other lot you have been paying had no paper work as well.
People are trying to tell you if they do not have the paperwork, you will not have to pay anything, but it appears to be going in one ear and out of the other at the moment.
I do Contracts, all day every day.
  • Send a CCA request and see what comes back.

They may settle for £500 to £1000 if they don't have it.

Depends if you want rid if it, as if they have no CCA they can write to you, sell it on, and that's about it.

I guess the key to the offer is to give them more than they would get by flogging it on again.

  • I wouldnt even offer them that.

Paid a penny in the pound for it and have been taking £5 per month for how long?

    CCA them, as above.

    Certainly stay off the phone.

If you want to offer them something then offer them £20 as Full and final .
