Well done, Jojob! I bet the view was amazing!

Must admit, I don't like heights at all, but if I know I can't fall, ie harnessed like you, or a perfectly safe railing thing, then I will give it a go.

Bit puzzled as to why a ship has such a tall tower, though?

Well done jojo. Unlike you I can fall over on perfectly flat ground, and have the scars to prove it.

We'll you certainly did earn respect I hope! And how super to enjoy the view.

Fear is such a funny thing.

There is a family story about fear and me that I think is really relevant to a lot of people ( and I think its about stubbornness more than fear)

When I was a very, very small child I went on a fun fair ride. I was the only child on it ( it was very, very early evening, I was probably around three. And I was told it was far too scary for me.

As the ride started it was quite clear I had changed my mind and I cried and yelled and asked to get off, but my parent insisted to the ride operator I see I see it through, which it heard, and the fair ground operator saying, ' really, I can stop, I think we should stop.

So, when the ride stopped, my parent said, ' you see, I told you it was too scary, and you didn't like it did you. I must have decided pride was more important than fear because I said, ' I want to go again, and settled down on a different part of the ride. I think I screamed all over again of course, so a Pyrrhic victory.

I still dislike fairgrounds and the like, lol.

My husband and I were saying about pink whistley cat that we think she must have heard of that book 'feel the fear and do it anyway' she is obviously aware of things like the dogs, and crossing the road, and she thinks about them then decides on action. She is a role model, like you and the tower jojo baby!

Me too. :D. Even standing still:rotfl:
  • Well done, jojo! I couldn't have done that! I am not too fond of heights myself, or water! High on a ship is something I wouldn't consider!

Funny you mention pride, LIR. When I have been quite phobic in the past I have found that I can sometimes overcome the causes if there is a chance of embarrassing myself. I remember being in a staff meeting and seeing a spider on my leg. I calmly acknowledged it and brushed it off. Later on I was shaking like a leaf but my fear of embarrassment overcame my fear of 8 legged things!

I only know how to do it from an iPad. No idea from a desktop Mac, let alone a PC.
If you use an iPad, I can tell you!
