Don't remind me of that JM or I'll end up writing a glossary on the first post and it really will go on forever!
Totally changing the subject for a moment as I read that I spontaneously plunged my hand behind the cushion. Errr, what to do with a small Christmas photo frame, anyone?Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

The thing about terms and language is to remember not all will pick it up and THATS ok too.
I have trouble with memory. I remember WaS with rain because its something I share. I remember blue is important and calming, and I know turquoise is, but cannot remember why. I think, well, I hope I am forgiven things like not remembering about turquoise if I can remember to be kind.0 -

Keep it with your Christmas decorations, would be my suggestion. If you have any, that is. (I don't, except for 3 stuffed toys based on the illustrations by Raymond Briggs which I couldn't resist. It was the Pound shop, again. I don't spend more than 10 minutes in an average year looking at the stuffed toys in the pound shop, honest!)
Ooops, you see, I got it wrong. Not even the regulars here get all the language right! :rotfl:

Oh you are, LIR, I think kindness is the biggest factor. Please don't let us all have to remember everything or I am onto a loser before I start. Sometimes I can't even remember posts I have read a minute ago.
Anytime in a group of people there will be certain terms that are shared from things that are experienced together. It is possible to eliminate that entirely and it would make the thread less human if we did so. I suppose the point is not to make it all inclusive and always ensure that it is welcoming to everyone but retain the relationships already developed? No one joining has to know every term that has been used as long as they feel included and able to join in at any time.
Am I making sense?
Christmas decorations are on top of the bookcase! I know where it goes! Wooohoo! thank you!
And I am terrible for giving everything nicknames, I would stop doing it if people want me to, though.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

We don't really know. It's to do with the wavelength of certain colours and how they interact with the brain. Blue has undoubtedly got a connection with the sky colour, and both blue and turquoise must be related to the colour of water, too. Air, light, water, all engrained in our DNA.(I just lurve spiders!)

If any newbies want to join in, though, we will always make them welcome and they can ask about any weird things we are talking about. I always see the cupboard of great anxiety as being related to the cartoon Sorcerer's Apprentice, in the original Fantasia.Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0

Noooo! Don't stop the nicknames! I love them! They make me giggle! And things that make you giggle become less fearful!

Ok, as this is post #2000, here is the suggested THREAD ETIQUETTE. By following this etiquette, all posters, whether new or existing, will feel safe, unpressured and respected..
- This is a thread for support. We have discovered some good friends on here, but we promise always to welcome and include new people, and not to be cliquey.
- People may make suggestions to help each other, and might even ask if the suggestions were helpful or have been carried out, but we'll really try not to nag each other or put too much pressure on.
- The normal board rules about sexism, racism, homophobia etc. apply, but if we are careful we should be able to discuss almost anything without breaching board rules - so far we have discussed subjects ranging from child abuse to incontinence!
-If someone thinks that too much pressure is being applied, they can post the trigger word PENGUIN and flag up the fact that they believe there's a potential for someone feeling too nagged to do something. ANYONE could post PENGUIN if they felt there was a danger that suggestions were being enforced too much.
.........:starmod:.....................................................................:starmod:................
- More suggestions please.............We stress that we are suggesting that we AGREE some Thread Etiquette to HELP people who might feel anxious about posting, we are not trying to IMPOSE rules, just relating this to facilitating groups, so that people feel safe and able to participate as fully as they can.(I just lurve spiders!)

Yay, Pyxis! You got post 2000! Are you happy to include some ground rules once a few more people agree them? (Or even now, so people can have a look, comment and modify)?
