    Afternoon all.
    Car is driving me potty, everything seems to be going wrong with it at the mo :mad:
    I'm sure it thinks we're made of money at the moment :mad:

    Sending big hugs to all that need or want them, not got much time to read back at the mo :(
    we have the same problem at the moment :( hubby's car is at the vauxhall garage after dying last week & they've phoned him up saying it would be £400 for them to figure out the problem & then at least £1000 to fix & that might still not work :( they quoted £600 + VAT when he booked it in :eek: which was why we chose them over another garage :( now we don't know what to do as we've still got 2 years of payments to pay on the car :(

    i still need to go get my tennis balls :)

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: @ JB FB :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    I'm passing on the tennis balls. Halfords is far enough away for the petrol costs to outweigh the cost of the tennis balls, which the dog destroys in minutes anyway!

    I have no idea? Other than it's free :D

    5 kilos of strawbs picked this morning and 3 kilos of goosegogs. Still got loads of jam left from last year so might have a year off from jam making. Don't know what to do with the strawbs as everyone is getting sick of the blooming things already and loads more to come. Also looks like a bumper crop of rasps on its way too. Can you put garden produce on Freecycle I wonder? icon5.gif

    I've just picked over a kg of strawbs from our garden this morning.
    Got over 2kg in the fridge in total now and the kids are starting to get sick of them.
    Don't want to give mine away so am gonna give jam making a go.
    Is it easy and do you have any good recipes please? :)

    Have you tried making Strawberry ice cream?? It's a great use of the leftover strawberries that have started to go a bit mushy:)

    Or ice cream lollies...http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/2256637/strawberry-milk-pops

    use jam sugar I do 1 bag to a kilo of unprepared fruit.. wash and half strawberries add squirt of lemon juice, and sugar heat on low heat until sugar dissolved then boil for 4 mins then check set if not set boil for further 2 mins then check again stand for 10 mins skim of foam. stir well then jar.

    or use ordinary sugar i do equal quantities and juice from 1 lemon to each kilo of sugar / fruit cook as above ..

    the ordinary sugar takes longer to reach setting but you save a lot on the sugar price,, hth x
