No, I don't think it would in fact. I'd like to have a commentary on the commentary:rotfl:.
I think the point with the commentary was that TV commentary is quite different to radio commentary. On television, the commentators assume (or can assume) that people can see the action (or at the game, action or total lack of action:rotfl:). However, to someone who is blind or visually-impaired, that will be missing. Whereas on radio commentary, the commentators have to describe to you more what is happening.
To be fair, on the World Cup - particularly BBC I feel - commentary, the commentators (on TV, I did switch once, during a segment, to the 5 Live commentary over the visual) have been very good - even telling me that the player's body language was 'poor' on one recent match. That was Switzerland wasn't it, when the Swiss were losing dramatically (against France)? (Was that BBC?) But, you see, to me, that isn't there and does need to be pointed out to me. (I suspect the commentators may have done it haphazardly, or off-the-cuff rather than truly being a thought about assisting viewers with autistic spectrum disorders.) I've noticed a few news reports (maybe I think about this more nowadays?) very recently have mentioned these things - David Cameron's body language with the Russian president and thank you to John Simpson for telling me something in relation to that, with some other thing, recently.
In World Cups and Euros gone by me and my ex (my ex and I?) often used to listen to the Radio 5 Live commentary while watching the match :T0 -

Savvy go back and check it...how could I amend your original:rotfl:
:doh:I knew there was that possible ambiguity! I saw it (as I foresaw every possible interpretation, lol!:rotfl::rotfl:) but I decided to let it go...
I wasn't meaning you amending my original. You said I should stop wriggling. I replied and said (albeit with ambiguity) that I should (also) stop amending my previous posts!
:eek:What am I doing having the BBC News Channel on now? There's another match soon!:eek: (I must have automatically switched seamlessly from BBC ONE to BBC News during the BBC ONE bulletin:rotfl:.)
Back on BBC ONE - anyone won the Lottery?;);) :doh:Have to have taken part in the first place, that crucial lacking thing!:(:rotfl: (That said, whilst really fun, I tend to think of Lottery as very poor investment - for granted, someone wins jackpots but, on the real world, it's infitessimally unlikely to be any one of us and, overall, for most people, not a money-saving exercise! Would be great - nay, beyond great, if I won the zillions though...)
(I like it... one match, late on, I became bored of the analysis and switched over, at exactly 1.00.00 am to the News Channel - was like there had been an automatic computer switch programmed in and switched to the exact start of the bulletin. A bit like BBC Local Radio back in the day switching from the regional programme to BBC 5 Live. They even programmed it wrongly on one station near to me - and had it taking the exact first 60 seconds of BBC World Service at 1.00am (which the HQ station of the region switched to) then switching to Radio 5 Live - or maybe it was Radio 2? Anyway!! Good evening folks...:rotfl::rotfl:)
Maybe I'm just filling time till the match programme is on...:rotfl::D:rotfl:0 -

Spooky! (Or not.) I was just thinking about that on seeing the "5 Live commentary" option appear on my screen just now. It can give a bit extra into watching a game the way they are now doing it (i.e. visuals from TV but audio from 5 Live).
Or maybe it annoys other people as feels like they are getting too much commentary of what they can already see!!:rotfl: At least they give you the choice (if OH isn't controlling the television etc.).
Shall I hit the 5 Live button?:think::think::think: (fades off into distance... and may be back later).

(Sorry - I shouldn't laugh! (It is funny though, your 'way with words' there, and also I suspect :eek:the situation as well.))
Don't know if this works - for those of you who don't like football matches (or football commentaries) but who like academic articles instead:eek::rotfl:, discussing the same:

Enjoy the academic article whilst others of us enjoy the match!:)0 -
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I think it's getting funny now. I got a bit bored with the World Cup after England being sent away with the Italy failure but the amount of coverage now, just way over the top: I think I'll keep watching and watching it!:rotfl: (Due to the over-the-top nature!)
It could have (in our dreams) been so so different eh?0 -
