If you have never been camping before it might be an idea to spend a night in a tent in your own back garden, we did this and our tent has never been used since :rotfl:Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Not quite in your specified area. When my daughter was smaller, we spent several short camping breaks at River Dart Adventures. Have a look at their website.0

I second Wellington Country Park. You can go into the grounds after everyone else has left, and early in the morning too.0

lots of nice campsites in the New Forest. You get to see the ponies and there are great cycling routes around.

As well as providing cabin accommodation it does cater for touring units. Loads of facilities. And right on the edge of the New Forest.
We always camped when our children were younger. It's great for kids as they can play out and make new friends really easily while being relatively safe in the campsite.0
