DMP & Mutual Support Thread - Part 10

Evening all,
I am really starting to wish that I hadn't rushed into setting up the first DMP payment so fast, first one due to go out in august I have made just one month of token payments, is it too late for me to delay for another month? What reason would I give to payplan?
Hi tayajade I know you've had some replies, but I took the same advice from puzz - I'd already made token payments but just rang SC and said I wasn't ready to make the DMP payments from July - they said fine, you shouldn't start until you are sure you can manage it - so my payments start in Sept - and I'm getting us on track ready, hopefully with an emergency fund behind us (OH s/e so other stuff to pay I.e tax :eek:)

Hi
I have had a sort through of responses from my creditors and all except 3 x lloyds loans have reduced to 0% interest (inc lloyds o/d and cc ?!). Neither I nor SC have received any acknowledgement from them about token payments or DMP (which starts Sept). I sent first token payment and covering letter recorded delivery so they are definitely aware of my situation. The loans relate to the highest proportion of debt (that old 'consolidation' chestnut !).
I am not sure whether I should wait until DMP payments start or send another request now, does anyone have any advice/suggestions please.
Thanks

Hi Sunny,
I'd not worry about it to be honest.
From my understanding Lloyds are sods, but they should get the same treatment as your other creditors...
SC will send them their first payment as notified and then after that Lloyds will either suddenly leap into action or default you or do absolutely nothing...
If you hear nothing then just have a quick check of your balance to see what has happened.
It's difficult in the early days, some reply while others just leave you guessing never to be heard from againjust follow up sooner to find out your position than later after they've shafted you with loads of charges etc.

Thank MB of G
Oh dear not good news about Lloyds then- I have checked statements online and they're definitely still charging interest so debt very much increasing at the moment with only £1 token payments

I am hoping that maybe in Sept they'll reply. The lady at SC said 8 out of 11 creditors was good down to 0% and that Lloyds will quickly pass to DCA - I hate all this waiting but I guess it has to be done.

Btw - well done you! home-made cards are the very best - sentimental girls for you : D0 -
Hey,
Don't go fretting over Lloyds too much because as I say I've not had to deal with them but have seen posts... I'm sure someone will post something more positive soon
As for them adding interest and charges... I think it was bound to happen, roll on DCA eh? LOL

Hey Puzz, good on you for paying for the car in cashit's a great feeling to pay for things out of your hard earned money but more painful than using credit (pre LBM obviously) isn't it? Still, I guess you appreciate it soooo much more
Ciao!

If this is the wrong thread apologies (please point to correct thread).
Anyway we have written to all our creditors (self managed dmp). We have a house that we rent out, at present we rent to a relative whose rent just covers the mortgage. Prior to that we had a tenant in their for about 12 months, he moved out but did not cancel his direct debit (we found this out last night). So for two months he has been paying money into an account (we do not use anymore) that is overdrawn (one of our creditors), in that two months charges have been taking out of the account, so about 1/4 of that rent has been taken out in charges.
He is now asking for all his money back (which I fully understand), but our financial situations means that we are unable to do. This is just another stress that we have to contend with, as if we did not have enough to worry about!
Any advice/help would be appreciated.

Do you still have the loan agreements? If so, check if the interest has been front loaded onto the loans.
You need to start fighting this with Lloyds ASAP, I would suggest using the complaint about interest template letter, just let me know if you can't find it and I will post it for you. Give them time to respond to this, then go to the FOS if you don't get the answer you want.
Lloyds are not easy to deal with and they do not pass to DCAs quickly, I have recently had a default well over 2 years into a DMP and it's still inhouse with Lloyds
