    Hi everyone!

Quick question, sorry if it's been asked, but just need to clarify something....

I've sent back my signed forms to step change to agree to enter into the DMP. They haven't replied yet....sent on Friday. Is my next step to move everything to my new bank account and cancely direct debits to my creditors and just pay £1 token payment from June's payments? Advising them im in a DMP with step change?

    Thanks :j

    HI

It does take a few working days for SC to get back to you which is normal, you can always give them a quick ring or email them, we usually email. Yes let them know using the generic letters SC supply. Personally we waited on SC setting up the £1 token payment DD, but our due payments weren't due till the following month. Sure others can advise more. We are already feeling slightly less stress now on a DMP with SC, and being here, reading posts helps a lot.

    Hi Riorio

Sounds good, most people find that moving direct debits manually seems to work well rather than transferring them on the banks automated transfer scheme.

Making a good start, well done.

I still get so confused with overpayments..
I have 9 creditors, 3 of which are still charging interest. SC say if I want to make extra payments they will divvy them up fairly which will just get sucked in interest. How can I pay off amounts to just the smaller debts?, one being 51 quid and the other £375 can I remove debts one at a time from my plan and sort them myself.

In my experience of sc, when I have called to make an overpayment, they have asked me how I wanted it to be paid out. It may be worth asking if they will offer that?
