That is good news tequilabird - you just have to ignore the rather scary language in the defaults. I would host a (small, cheap) party if Barclaycard defaulted me.:j

    Hi TTFM

Good ideas about the charity shops. I lack the time to really look because of the many jobs but will go to a couple this afternoon for a browse. My shoes are Clark's but they get so much wear as I walk up and down a lot. I have found an outlet village where I plan to get two pairs after pay day for what I normally spend on one. Most of our clothing budget goes on DD2 who seems to have been in a growth spurt for about 2 years:rotfl: She is now taller than me and I am 5 foot 7...

The FB thing is a nightmare and does not look as though it will be simple to sort out. I had a dream last night that I was having a heated argument with Mark Zuckerberg :eek:so my subconscious is clearly blaming him for it all!

It must be tough to find the time to trawl charity shops when you are doing so many jobs. Regarding shoes, a trick I have used is to wear cheap trainers to walk in and keep my shoes in work and get changed into them when I arrive. I don't know if it would work for you but it's extended the life of my decent shoes and kept them looking much smarter :money:

Look out Mark Zuckerberg, Phoenixx is coming for you :D

Hi, thanks. Mixed bag then. Getting shafted with interest on the loan but seems more of you aren't so I'll take hope from that.

Sums it up nicely. Win some loose some. As long as the overall is going in the right direction we are in a much better position than pre DMP

We also have a friend who works for a high end men's wear designer shop. Sometimes he comes round with seconds and end of lines that haven't sold for DH. Some of them are a bit trendy for DH and it is amusing to watch him trying to co-ordinate the freebie Hugo Boss and Versace with his Sainsbury jeans and Aldi bits and bobs. He tries though and it is very kind of our friend who I think suspects our situation.

There are some really kind people out there

Agree with others comments about sprucing up for less and taking a reduction in DMP payment if needed for work.

For me one of the fabulous life changing things of the DMP was that it's a great leveller. I learnt so much about people good and bad. It's given me a whole new perspective on what is important in life.

Hope you find a solution that suits you.

Hi tequilabird, I've received my first default notice from Halifax today too and I have just said the exact same thing to my hubby. Going to ring them next week and ensure they have Dmp details. It is a good thing so try and put it to the back of your mind and enjoy the weekend.

Just to add, it is so good having this forum. I would have been in a right state about the default notice if it wasn't for the lovely people posting on here.

  • Well have ploughed through the NEDCAB templates and I'm pretty much ready to go on the self managed. I'm actually quite looking forward to be in control because although they do a great job Stepchange are not very proactive when you need them to do things because a creditor is ringing you daily.

Been Sainsburys in my case and finally rang them today to say I'm going self managed, the payment will be the same and my own financial statement will be in the post this week, but they will get my final payment from SC on 25th.

I particularly like my letter to BC, I'm sending them the normal statement showing what their payment should be, but until they default, sell on or simply remove the interest I will be sending them £1.

I know they are going to hassle me to death but I'm ready and it's the only way I can think to deal with them.

    Onwards and Debt Downwards.

    Dunno why they always seem to arrive on a Saturday when the offices are shut, but they do. Despite the very formal language, they are not a bad thing;
