That's odd as I have a Debenhams card that ius run my Newday and they are the only one I haven't heard a thing from. Might have to write another letter to them...although SC do say they have accepted the payment plan.

    Hi ploppy,
If sc say they have accepted I wouldn't write to them again unless you are doing a delayed start up and token payments. It is quite normal for some creditors to not wrote to you as you have authorised sc to deal on your behalf.

  • Hi all,

Sorry for silence recently. Had been busy with other stuff and not much was happening with my debts anyway.

I've now finally got my last big creditor to agree to stop interest and charges. I offered 25 (no pound sign on Kindle?!), they wanted bank statements, I said no, then they accepted 33, cf previous payments of 150 approx. Now just waiting on Capital One which is about 2k.

A great weight off my mind!

Hope everyone is OK, especially our friend Sazzie.

    Regards
    James

Apologies for just dropping in as haven't posted for a while.

I do still feel a little ashamed that I am celebrating having £49200 of debt but trust me, when it was over £70,000 I genuinely didn't think I would ever see an end in sight!!!

For those of you just starting it does get better, there is light at the end of the tunnel and it will be the best thing you ever do!!

Hey everyone, today was the day step change sent out the first lot of payments to my creditors. I also got a letter from barclaycard, saying i had missed my payment, even though i had phoned them a couple of weeks ago and they said they had suspended my account for a month.

I rang barclaycard and they said they still havent heard anything from step change. Step change wrote to them early january and again early february. Do you think they are lying to me? I cant imagine the post got lost twice. I have no idea whats happened to the payment from stepchange, as barclaycard are saying they haven't even received notice from stepchange about my dmp nevermind my payment.

Also my halifax accounts arent showing the payments. Only one of them is, natwest. Has anyone experienced this with barclaycard? Is this normal?

    Thanks everyone!

  • Good evening,

So, as some of you may be aware, I applied for a nationwide basic bank account last night. Got an email though saying that I needed to bring some ID to a branch. Work was a bit manic today so will be doing this tomorrow but, bizarrely, I got another email saying saying that my application has been accepted and that my card and PIN should be with me within the next 10 working days. I haven't shown them my ID so thought it a bit odd. Anyone had a similar experience?

Hi, yes the same happened to us. Had an email saying we needed to go in to branch to show some ID but when we got there it had already gone through.

    Hi,
They don't write everything is done electronically so the only problem is one department doesn't know what the other department is doing. Be patient all will sort itself out, and if you have concerns phone stepchange. I found all but one creditor closed online accounts as soon as the word dmp was mentioned.

    Hi Puzz

If they close online accounts do they automatically revert to paper statements? All our accounts are paperless at the moment and if they close our online access I will be so frustrated :(

At the moment even though we've received info from MBNA and RBS accepting the DMP and RBS sending default notice, we still have online access to our accounts (just checked again :) ). It does state on both accounts that accounts are suspended and access is limited, but I can see the balance and payment history.

    Hi,
I get paper statements now every month for all my cc's. For my loan and overdraft I get a statement once or twice a year. For my one cc debt that was sold on I get an annual statement, I also use noddle to keep an eye on them all!
