I hope I don't get many more calls like that, it felt like I was being sucked into a vortex of call centre scripts! Computer says no etc
Just say
Thank you for calling, I am setting up a dmp with stepchange and this is my reference number, they will be in touch shortly. Goodbye.
We can have a script too!

Hi Guys,
I'm a DMP and have been since 2009/2010 with Payplan, I checked my credit file yesterday with Noodle and all the creditors that are on my DMP are still showing as a DF every month....is this the same for everyone?? I thought after 6 years these would drop over (even though i'll still be on my DMP) I thought when you were on a DMP that this would be identified on the credit report and wouldn't be classed as defaults??
HELP, please!0 -
You need to check the date you were actually defaulted for each debt, they may not have defaulted you at the same time you started your DMP.0
-
I had defaulted for sure and they show that (payment however many months in arrears then defaulted)...super concerned! Waiting to hear back from Payplan but was just wondering what others have experienced.0

This would perhaps explain why we had heard from one of the MBNA accounts and not the other two:D Full steam ahead now everythings correct with SC:j
That's odd as I have a Debenhams card that ius run my Newday and they are the only one I haven't heard a thing from. Might have to write another letter to them...although SC do say they have accepted the payment plan. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. For defaults to be definitely cleared from your credit file now (Feb 2015) they need to have been registered in 2008, or by Jan 2009 at the latest. Do you know when your defaults were registered?DFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0 -

They will show the defaulted date in your Noddle report, just go and look.
My DMP started in Jan 2012 but my creditors didn't start to default me until May 2012, some are even later sept 2012. So you can't assume that they defaulted you at the date your dmp started. Go and find out the actual date they defaulted you and don't assume a date.0 -
Apologies for just dropping in as haven't posted for a while.
I do still feel a little ashamed that I am celebrating having £49200 of debt but trust me, when it was over £70,000 I genuinely didn't think I would ever see an end in sight!!!
For those of you just starting it does get better, there is light at the end of the tunnel and it will be the best thing you ever do!!Started DMP Oct 2012 debtfree date 1st March 2020
Starting debt £72481
Current debt £47600. 33% paid off!!!:T:rotfl::rotfl::j
Moved from £70's to £60's, bye bye £50's and hello £40's!

Hi,
As previously said the default will drop off your credit file 6 years from the first default was registered. It is completely normal for your report to show a df for every month but it the first one that counts. You default as soon as you do not pay your contracted minimum payment so quite normal for a dmp. Creditors sometimes choose to mark the file late payment, arrangement to pay (ap) or dmp.
