One of my creditors has never accepted the dmp - funnily enough they accept the payment every month though :) I wouldn't have thought the dmp company would suggest putting the payment up.. just keep paying!

I think 'rejection' is the creditors way of reserving the right to take further action. However as long as you keep the rejected payments up to date they don't seem to take further action, or non really reported on this thread. So as Karen and others say, just keep paying it and don't worry.

    Hi all,

Ive just started a DMP with Stepchange where the first payment is due out on Monday, out of my 5 Creditors i have had 2 agree to the repayment plan, 1 has rejected it and i have yet to hear from 2 others.

The company that rejected it are also the company who recommended i get in touch with Stepchange.

Anyone had any similar issues and how were they overcome? I should be able to get in touch with Stepchange tomorrow hopefully

    Hi and welcome 7839matth :hello:

This seems to happen quite a lot, I think both Natwest and BOS rejected our DMP at first. StepChange will tell you to ignore it and they will keep paying and it generally settles down after a month or two.

If you need any more help or advice or just want some support, please stick around and join us. This is a great thread, very friendly, non-judgemental and a bit fun and crazy too!

I have a couple of questions that hopefully someone can help with or at least tell me it's okay. My DMP has been going for about 8 months now and I thought we were going okay. But recently letters from one of my creditors have been going to my Mum's address, we previously had a joint account just incase she got ill, none of the money was mine and I was only on there in case of an emergency, we ended that before I went on DMP but for some reason they have started sending letters to me at her address, whats the best plan here, I'm still nervous of phoning anyone so was thinking of writing. Also I had an annual statement from another creditor who I thought was not charging interest but it seems to be on there, but rather confusingly the interest amounts are in italics and further on it says that anything in italics might not apply.

Hope that all makes sense, as always just feels good to get it all of my chest.

    Thanks Everyone.

Totally, certainly the most difficult out of all our creditors. Shame we had four accounts with them:rotfl:

Are the letters to do with your debts or are they just advertising stuff? If it is to do with your debts I would write to them and tell them you have changed address so any future post goes to your house and then you can deal with it. If it isn't to do with your debts write and ask them to remove you from their mailing list.

That sounds very confusing. I would telephone them and ask them to clarify. I know you feel nervous about phoning but honestly I have found phoning to be fine. You've been on your DMP for some months now so you probably won't get any hassle from them now.

Seems to be a few worries around creditors responses, best advice I can offer is to A) just follow SC's advice, because creditors don't have to accept your offer but it seems rare for them to not accept payments ;) and B) don't be scared to call them, they're miles away and if it comes down to it you can just make an excuse and put the phone down LOL

All these people really want is what you owe them, the worst seem to be the people you'd expect to be good *cough*Very*cough* so don't be afraid, there is this forum which is jam packed full of great friendly people all in the same boat :)

Hi wolves and welcome to dmp land.

Best advice I can give is to make a cuppa, pull up a chair and get reading the previous thread 9 and then this one. Many questions will be answered and if not post up here and someone will know the answer...hopefully!!!
    Good luck
