Hey Jubilee14, hope you are feeling a bit more cheerful than when you posted a few days ago.

Well as you say it's the weekend, the dentist has stuck my gold crown back in but I won't be braving any pork scratchings or very sticky toffees. Halifax keep ringing me in work time on my mobile. I think it's because we dropped our payments (as SC advised) to put more away for the car repairs as it seems to be costing us a lot. We received a letter to say Halifax have rejected the offer. I keep telling them to call me in the evening but they haven't. Guess I better try calling them to see what they want. Don't want them piling on the charges again.

MB I am in awe of your linguistic abilities. So far we've had Spanish, French, Polish and now Italian! Can you speak Klingon? Qapla'!

    Hi all,

Ive just started a DMP with Stepchange where the first payment is due out on Monday, out of my 5 Creditors i have had 2 agree to the repayment plan, 1 has rejected it and i have yet to hear from 2 others.

The company that rejected it are also the company who recommended i get in touch with Stepchange.

Anyone had any similar issues and how were they overcome? I should be able to get in touch with Stepchange tomorrow hopefully

Thanks everyone. I have done some thinking and list making and don't need to think to hard for an emergency as I now have some car trouble which needs £££ of fixing. So I have taken it as a sign and combined with some hours looking at numbers today I am going to go self managed. I have paid 10k off already and have 15k ish to go spread between four ccs, one loan and two o/ds... and I really would like to get a couple of small but troublesome debts out of the way which I can do quite easily if managing it myself I think.
Have written a list of actions, done some research from the links people have provided on here and am giving myself the weekend off and going to start the changeover on Monday. Having dealt with HBOS this week I have realised I can actually do the thing I was most convinced I couldn't - i.e. talk to creditors! So onwards and upwards. As some of you have said no one is going to look after my money better than I can. In theory anyway.

I will post my I and E on here early next week and would appreciate anyone's feedback who has time to give it.

Thanks for the advice people. Much appreciated.

    Hi all

Just a quick question, I have seen a few posts where creditors have rejected the offers made, if a creditor rejects the plan/payment what happens then?

Would payplan ask me to increase my payment or do you just stick it and hope that the creditors gives in?

    Thanks!

Hi GUO yes feeling more resiliant again thanks you guys put things in perspective and with a little sunshine.... be it from Poland/Spain or wherever MB is on tour to tonight :rotfl:

helifax are a mare arent they. I had to do exactly the same but i think....... it might have prompted a steer towards a default as my Noddle account late payments and threatening letters. I am keeping paying the DMP and written to complain again about being unreasonable having only cleared about £300 despite paying them over £2k in past 18 months. not wanting to engage too much incase i revert back to AP plod along never clear the debt. You never know we could be heading default and interest free:beer:

Hi Math i never had a formal rejection but they did recommend SC so as long as your paying it off i doubt there is much they can do as your showing willing to pay.... and remember if it goes straight to default all the better it will fall off sooner and may encourage interest freeze.
