    HI James,

Sorry I can't answer your quetion, but it did remind me of something that happened in my early set up of a dmp... I got my payment plan through from sc and they had allocated 1p to each creditor.....:rotfl: Luckily it didn't get sent out...! I can't imagine getting away with paying 9p on 60k debt....!!!

Thanks for that - sorry, as you'll have gathered, I keep asking random obscure questions! If I find out the answers myself, I will post a list sometime in case anyone finds it useful.

    Regards
    James

  • Does anyone know if creditors keep an eye on your credit records to see if you're paying any of the others any extra money beyond DMP amounts?

    Thanks

    Ours never noticed ;)

Not important in the context of Sazzie's news, but Barclaycard have accepted my offer.

Across all my accepted offers I am now paying about £100 per month (with charges and interest stopped) on £30k of debt which previously cost about £670.

Looks good so far...approx £18k of other debts where I am waiting for replies.

One of my creditors seems to think I am covering their minimum payment in my plan which is obviously not correct. I suspect they have looked at my total payment across all creditors. Has anyone else had this? I've just sent the creditor a secure message asking them to check my letter and theirs as I suspect they've made a factual mistake.

    Regards
    James

Did Barclaycard contact you to let you know they had stopped interest, after SC contacted them? I have heard BC are one of the worst at stopping charges.

Hi, I am self-managing my DMP so I just wrote to BC myself. I wrote one letter quoting all my account numbers and itemising the amounts I could pay every month including the total.

I got a standard letter back for each separate account (just with different account numbers and total balances), with some standard wording which I can let you have if you want.

My understanding from reading MSE threads, is that BC are more likely to be receptive to (i.e. stop interest and charges on) monthly payment offers below 0.5% of the debt. Mine are about 0.3%
