  • quick update, I posted a few weeks back re a charging order threat form Nationwide. I have posted about this more fully in the charging order thread as Eggbox in there is good for advice, but just wondered if anyone here has experienced this, I know I dont have to attend but I wondered if I did it has any effect on the outcome? I am not too concerned having read more into it, property is joint and weve no intention of selling, but wondered if anyone had attended one?
I'm a greenfield sight for sore eyes, and sore eyes are just needing the light, the shapes, and the shadows of the space we share, before it splits into Thin Air.

    And finally for me

As some of the longer term regulars in here may recall, my debts really hit crisis when my partner of 25+ years had to stop working through serious illness. There has then been a long period of change for us with relationship issues, but for the past few months I have been caring for him at home. The many hours I've spent on the forums have often been because I've been up late/early when he's been unwell or I've been worrying.

Anyway to cut a long story short, yesterday he finally passed away . Financially he was my final buffer in case of real emergency, he had no money to speak of but could access credit, and although he didn't make much contribution to the daily household budget, I'm still figuring out the real impact. I've been very fortunate to take time away from work to care for him, and hopefully I'll be able to get back soon and go back to putting in the long hours which will keep me on track for my DFD.

Sazzie23 - so sorry to hear about your loss. You are one strong person to deal with this all so calmly, all the time offering your support on here. Take care xx

Hi Sazzie, so sorry to hear your news. All the best with trying to get through the next few weeks. Thinking of you.

  • Not important in the context of Sazzie's news, but Barclaycard have accepted my offer.

Across all my accepted offers I am now paying about £100 per month (with charges and interest stopped) on £30k of debt which previously cost about £670.

Looks good so far...approx £18k of other debts where I am waiting for replies.

One of my creditors seems to think I am covering their minimum payment in my plan which is obviously not correct. I suspect they have looked at my total payment across all creditors. Has anyone else had this? I've just sent the creditor a secure message asking them to check my letter and theirs as I suspect they've made a factual mistake.

    Regards
    James

    HI James,

Sorry I can't answer your quetion, but it did remind me of something that happened in my early set up of a dmp... I got my payment plan through from sc and they had allocated 1p to each creditor.....:rotfl: Luckily it didn't get sent out...! I can't imagine getting away with paying 9p on 60k debt....!!!

    Hi Coinmachine,

I see you have had an answer on the other thread. I've never been threatened with one, do you know why NW have taken this route?

Hi Ali , natural to be worried, and yes I had plans to hide the TV in the car/at a friends house etc etc, but I found the info the SC website about bailiffs rights to be quite re-assuring. In my case now 2 years into DMP and no sign of anyone knocking on the door for money;)

Thanks for the reassurance Sazzie, especially at a time that must clearly be very difficult for you.

    Sorry for your loss.

  • Finally Springcoin have informed me all relevant documentation has been received and have apologised for all the automated emails and confusion. What they have yet to discover is the FOS have already written to them and complained about the amount of times Stepchange have written to them. They should receive letter of complaint shortly. Springcoin can't tell me they have only just received documents as it's been sent out 6 times.

They will now probably refuse payment plan as I have reported them for their disgusting behaviour. Watch this space.......
