    Yes indeed!
Upon nosing through some paperwork I have also discovered that a share save scheme I'm locked into with work ends in May and...I hope you are sitting down...There will be enough to clear half of my remaining debt if I get no F&Fs!

Excellent news Kate. I had an interesting letter from the DWP sent to me on behalf of Equitable Life recently. Many moons ago I worked for a company and joined their pension scheme which was with Equitable Life, and back then it was regarded as a very good scheme to be in. Then they lost their court case and everything went pear shaped. Anyway it turns out I may be entitled to some compensation. They couldn't tell me how much and as I never earned much whilst I was there I'm not expecting a lot, but it all helps:beer:

  • That is fantastic progress Kate!

I have had two F&F responses. Lowell have offered a 20% discount on a small debt which I am accepting. Wescott have refused ANY F&F offers as apparently their client Three will no consider anything other then the full balance, whether or not it takes years to pay off.

BC initially refused because I'm "managing" the account and paying on time. I was furious so complained and they accepted my offer!

Worth considering that collection teams have monthly targets to hit too and we all know how tight January can be so perhaps call again near the end of January when they're unlikely to hit their targets ;)

Just wanted to thank all of you on here that have helped me this year. I really couldn't have started my debt free journey without you.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy 2015. :)

  • Everything is set up with SC!! They are now in the process of contacting all of my creditors, I have my log in and have updated all of my debts on there (since they have strafed charging me for being in arrears haha). My DFD is going to be 30th May 2018 according to SC, but my 30th birthday is 1st March, so my aim is to be debt free by then. Realistic I'd say, assuming everything goes well.

My OH took me shopping and to the cinema today as part of my Christmas present, and he bought me a very plain cardboard ring binder file. He said we're going to decorate it with colourful, pretty things and photos of us, so that even if my DMP contents are ugly, at least they'll be in a pretty file :)

Hope everyone has a LOVELY New Year's Eve - I'll be on call in my volunteer job with the ambulance service, so if you're celebrating have a drink for me ;) (and for everybody else considering or on a DMPS right now!)

    Thanks for that Kate. ;)

[FONT=&quot]I will certainly try again at the end of January but this offer was my second F&F to Wescot of 2014 with a very similar response so I think they may stand firm. It’s not the end of the world as it is one of my smallest debts just annoying as nearly all the other creditors are open to some sort of settlement offer.
