I'm 2 months into my DMP with stepchange and feel more stressed than ever. Maybe it's normal to feel this way at the beginning but I'm getting letters every couple of days from stepchange saying a creditor has refused the offer but not to worry cos they'll pay the proposed amount anyway or it's been passed to someone else. I've also had creditors contact me saying they've not got any contact from stepchange. Is this all normal please? I'm just worried that by going down the DMP route I've made things worse.0

All quite normal... Stepchange will just keep paying them.. I assume you have contacted stepchange to ensure they have all the right information for the creditors who are saying they haven't heard anything? I had this with one, how many are saying they haven't heard anything? Its probably just different departments not talking to each other.
Try not to let it stress you, you are doing a good thing getting your debts sorted.

Hi mum2three,
I assume you have been through the different options ie; iva, bankruptcy etc and the dmp is the best for you? 35 years is a very long dmp, but all sorts will change during this time, work, payrises, kids growing up and contributing to the household budget, who knows what financial changes are ahead for any of us! Hopefully you will be able to increase payments over time and reduce the length of the dmp.
Do make sure it is the best route of debt freedom for you. Stepchange have an online debt tool you can use, which may give you other options or you may have already done all this, hence the dmp.
Stick around, we love company!

Thank you, was advised about a debt relief order but for now the dmp sounds like the best option. We have very little money to give the creditors which is why it's going to take so long. Waiting on confirmation about the mini credit account which would reduce the amount we owe quite a lot. Will deff stick around, apart from my husband no one knows about the dmp so is quite overwhelming0 -
Grr, bought something from US on black Friday for $24 (about £15) and just been invoiced £17 by Fedex on top of the $25 I paid postage. Some proper keyboard warriers on the consumer rights board which is brightening up my Friday.
Anyway Happy DMP Xmas one and all. I've not quite finished yet, got a couple of trips Monday and Tuesday and then can relax.
