DMP & Mutual Support Thread - Part 10

  • Hi wonder if anyone can help? Since starting my DMP I have been charting progress of my accounts via Noddle. Two months ago two were sold onto Cabots by the original creditor, these have yet to appear on my Noddle account. Does anyone know if Cabots report to Noddle? I do hope it is just delayed as I really value being able to keep check. Thanks

Yes Cabot do report to Noddle but there may be a delay in the change over and Noddle can be a bit slow in catching up so it may take a few months to show.

I dreaded any of our debt being transferred to a DCA but I have to say that Cabot were far better than Lloyds TSB ever were. We found them very friendly, helpful and approachable and they even asked were we sure we could afford their payments! If you ever want your up to date balance, you can phone Cabot and they will give it over the phone and I think they possibly also have an online facility.

  • Good news! My payslip has come through for pay day tomorrow, and my new account details are on there! Phew, I don't have to worry about making an emergency 5.30am transfer in the morning from Halifax to stop their grubby hands taking my cash ha!

Also just opened the online savings account attached to my new cash account, and transferred my first £1 in :) There was a small part of me that was very satisfied even at that.

All of my 'spare' cash has been transferred into my new account, and it's the first time I've seen my balance in the black :D:D

  • And just a little quote I saw which made me feel a WHOLE lot better about everything:

"Rock bottom became the solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life." - J.K.Rowling

Such a poignant quote, as (and I'm not suggesting we're all going to write novels that will become one of the biggest franchises ever) I think it validly points out that if you're at the bottom, you can't get any worse. All you can do is strive to make it better. And that's what we're all doing. Rock bottom seems to be a good, solid place to start :)

I haven't been on here for a while (apologies), just reading through the pages and pages of new posts.

In June when I had my LBM and was at my lowest, I came across you friendly lot who offered me good advice and lots of support before I entered my DMP.

I can't believe that I've paid off £2.5K already as of today :j

You guys and SC are absolutely smashing :T:T:T

    Thank you

  • Thanks HH and TTFTM.
Hi TTFTM. I was also dreading going to a DCA but thus far I have found Cabots service to be excellent. Far better than the original creditor.:)

It reads like a computer generated mailshot type letter, as it doesn't mention your fiinancial situation so I wouldn't worry about it. You could always give sc a call to find out if they have had a response from qq, not sure how far into the set up you are?

They wrote to all creditors 2nd December. So far I've heard from Nationwide and Halifax who have both agreed Stepchange offer and frozen interest. Very and Littlewoods have passed my account over to RCM who I've spoken too today. Very polite and will accept any offer. Awaiting to hear from 5 more and Stepchange so far have heard nothing.
