Hi,
Would any of you who've had your Wonga debts wiped be able to quickly pop over to the thread I've made please? I've got a quick question on defaults. Thanks.

Hi all,
I have finally decided to pay my credit card creditors over the counter tomorrow using the giro slips and my two overdrafts I will pay online paying straight into the account.
I have also managed to finally get all my letters sorted and written up. I have all the addresses for my credit card creditors but not for my two overdrafts which I have with HSBC and Santander. Does anyone have the addresses for these and where I would send them to?
Thanks
EDIT: Just realised I can also just put £1.00 into my HSBC and Santander accounts/overdrafts, but am wondering if this is better than just putting the token payment in via online.0 -
Hi folks!
Bit of an odd question, possibly to do with an email I sent advising of my change of address?
I just got an email from Moneyshop asking me to email confirmation they can email me at my email address??? Eh?
I've replied and said it was ok but could I just be high on painpills and missing something here?

Ooh now you're asking, it was awhile ago now. I think instead of putting 'I enclose a postal order for' bit, I wrote 'I have made a token payment of xx on (date) in cash at my bank.
So I've written:
I am unable to meet my normal monthly payments, so please accept a token payment of £1.00 which I have made on Tuesday 28th October 2014 in cash at my bank. Please accept this token payment of £1.00 per month until StepChange contact you with my DMP details. I would appreciate if you could hold any action on the above account until this time.
I think that should so it.0 -

Hi Zenshi and welcome back
Well I'm back from my holiday and I had the most fantastic timeThe friend I stayed with is a teacher so I've returned home with a huge stack of intellectual reads and (this will sound really boring) got through an entire book while I was there! My body clock decided to keep up the early mornings so both Saturday and Sunday I was found at around 7.30am curled up on her sofa next to a sea view reading. It was heavenly. The car protested a little at the 200 mile drive down and the fact that the M5 was a car park for a good hour on Friday morning but thankfully I'd already had it repaired so it got me there and back safely. I had my first ever "proper" Devon cream tea with scones the size of grapefruits and I've returned refreshed and re-energised. AND with change from the cash I took out before I went
Just as I was about to leave I had a call from HR, interview lined up for the end of next week :j Went back to work yesterday and flew through a huge amount of work. Off again now, today we're going on a bear hunt in the local woods followed by pub lunch (I have a coupon) and tomorrow the Grand Vet School Tour of England concludes with a trip to London. I've had a wonderful few months touring the country with DD1 and grabbed every minute by the wotsits making the most I could out of it. None of this would have happened without my DMP and the new things it has taught me.
So back to reality, no debt news to report - no news is good newsthe bills have just left my account for the month ahead and I've started my frugal Christmas shopping in earnest (thanks to O2 priority moments app)
Still feeling happy, settled, secure and positive for the future. Would never have believed I'd feel like this a year ago!

Hi all. It's been a while since I've posted but my DMP is now up and going and I feel so much better. All creditors except for barclays (overdraft) have agreed to freeze interest.
Yesterday I got a letter from Texco credit card saying they are issuing a default notice and passing my debt onto a debt collect agency. Is this good? Tesco had agreed to my DMP - do I now need to get the DCA to agree now or is the agreement carried over.
Sorry for so many questions - am a little confused by it all.0 -

All my debts that have been passed over to a DCA were accepted at the same rate of payment as made to the original creditor. I never found it to be a problem, you need to let Step Change know though. I've always found DCA's easy to deal with tbh although I know other people have had problems, but if you talk to them and let them know what's going on you should be OK.DMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

Hi GG
I had my first experience of a default and DcA earlier this year, basically I got a letter saying the account had been sold to a DcA, then I called the DcA because I wanted an up to date balance and they took my details and said they would send me a letter. The letter took about 6 weeks to arrive and said they were ok with my SC DMP agreement and it would carry on but could I update the details to pay LINK (the DcA ). I did this on line and payments seem to go through ok.
It has not caused me any trouble, mine was an MBNA card but I expect a similar sort of process will happen for you, so no need to worry unduly.
Hope this helps a bit. The default was painless by the way, the only difference is my noddle account now shows a default on the account.Debt -it's a fight that I'm winning, dealing with debt one day at a time.
