Can we choose what date our DMP direct debt is taken out of the current account on or do StepChange do a specific date for all DMPs?
Thanks

Not been on for a bit as currently in bed with the most horrific cold, hoping its on its way out. I've felt like I haven't been doing much on the DF journey or towards my DMP. The new bank account is set up and I have cancelled direct debits as well as sent letters to the cc companies to advise them I am seeking advise from Stepchange. I've not heard anything from any of them yet. I made a token payment to one on payment due date last week and will have to do the other 2 next week. I need to find the card reader for my current bank as can't set them up and am panicking a bit as to how else I can pay if I can't find it.
I have also been looking into gaining some additional income to help pay it off more quickly as I am a qualified reflexologist/indian head massage so am looking into seeing if I can get a couple of hours a week doing it which could bring in a little extra. Whilst I would need to register as self employed with tax man it would still help to add to the money being thrown at the debt.LBM 6/8/14

I hate the card reader thingy with a passion and resort to ringing the bank to make payments that aren't set up as DD etc. They don't seem to mind too much, although they remind me that 'internet banking is available' (yeah, yeah).
Good luck with the therapies & self employment. Bring on the DFD !Debt -it's a fight that I'm winning, dealing with debt one day at a time.

Amazing HH. Completely and utterly fabulous :T :T :T
You are a true inspiration to us all.
Mini-celebration (in comparison) from me - the money has left my account and I've repaid the loan from my friend today :j She lent me the money the week after my LBM when I didn't have the money for the rent.
2 debts down, 8 to go (including just £220 to pay off the other non-DMP debt which will hopefully be gone before my next payday).
Keep plodding all, we'll all soon have grins as big as HH

Another quick one from me. Noddle report has arrived.
HSBC haven't defaulted. I now have another late payment marker on both their CC and loan. However, the current account's overdraft is back under the limit and it's marked as up to date??? Not a clue what is going on there!
A quick add up has also made me grin and increased my motivation. If I can get that non-DMP debt cleared this month I'll drop below £10k :j wasn't expecting that to happen before Christmas so I'm delighted
