Another quick one from me. Noddle report has arrived.

HSBC haven't defaulted. I now have another late payment marker on both their CC and loan. However, the current account's overdraft is back under the limit and it's marked as up to date??? Not a clue what is going on there!

A quick add up has also made me grin and increased my motivation. If I can get that non-DMP debt cleared this month I'll drop below £10k :j wasn't expecting that to happen before Christmas so I'm delighted :)

    Kate x

Yeah my non defaulted debts are shown as up to date whereas before they were AP (arranged payments), or late payment - oddness

Good news on the non DMP stuff and looking forward to under 10k - fabbie.

I think general theme this week is that life seems to be better on a DMP than before it ?

well done Kate on the cloud 9 business - sorry to hear about your leg playing up.

Well done bongo and HH - you are complete inspirations to all of us.

Can I just ask a question - I am thinking about trying to get a default from Halifax credit card - and am not sure what my chances are - I am currently paying reduced interest on 2 ccs and frozen interest on 2 ods and the other credit card but Halifax cc won't reduce interest at all - have been through FOS and everything. If I start sending token/ reduced payments to them, or less than they want, am I right to think that instead of selling to a debt collection agency, they will just start adding charges etc on and I will just increase my debt to them -as they have said they do not accept that I am in financial hardship?

Well done HH - awesome news :T :j

You've been such an inspiration to me (and many others) and I thank you for your support. I still have a long way to go (and at times find that very daunting), but stories such as yours keeps me motivated.

Enjoy that debt free freedom - you've earned it

ABSOLUTELY! I sleep at night, I can see the totals regularly dropping and I have the time and head-space to live in the present. Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to being debt free but I'm no longer treading water until I get there. One eye on the finish line but both feet firmly in the present and living :D

    Debt-free and Proud!
Many congratulations HH. Ah no longer a debt free wannabee:D

Well I have been and gone and done it! Now self managing. Step Change were brilliant and wished me good luck and said I was being very sensible. That was worrying seeing as sensible is not me, well not where money is concerned:rotfl:

Contacted 6 creditors now and they have all been very helpful. A couple are insisting on an SOA even though I said things haven't changed, but heyho I can sort that. Just got OH's creditors to phone now but he decided he had to go out. I'll get him when he gets back home though:D

So far they have all agreed that I can carry on paying on the 25th of the month so I have put what would have been this month's payment to Step Change into my Credit Union account. Payments on 25/09 will come out of my next pay packet so I have a nice little emergency fund now.

Car is going in for a service this week, and hopefully they can sort out the orange warning light too, although the bloomin' thing has gone off again after having been on for ages. I'm sure that car has got it in for me.

Debt free date 25/11/2015 - Made It!
  • I just signed up for Noddle, so excuse me if this sounds dense - but I can't see anywhere that shows defaults, though I know I've had them! Also, some of the accounts are marked as up to date, with either an Arrangement or DMP marker... that seems weird to me! I mean I guess it's good, it's just odd.

I am glad for everyone mentioning noddle though, so nice to be able to check progress regularly. Just passed it onto my partner too :)
