Yes you must! Halifax have rejected my reduced offer of payment now that I am putting more in my emergency fund for the pain in the a**e car. SC have written to say just keep paying. I'm not worried by it, just hoping that it might mean because I am paying less that it reduces my interest to them or it gets passed onto a DCA.

All will be well Fuzzy, it's only money and you don't have to go to debtors prison any more:rotfl:

  • Ah, I love a good call from the idiots!

Just had Wescot on the phone so I decided to answer to see what it's like. The bloke sounded terrified once I'd started talking! Stumbled and stammered over his words. I know he's just trying to do his job but still, find a better career path bud....

He said they hadn't heard from my DMP which I believe to be utter tosh but then again I don't know what type of communication they all have behind the scenes. So I just rattled off my DMP number, sat and listened to him stammering out his preset and said goodbye.

Still, accounts on hold for 30 days so I'll know by then if they come back to me and claim they've heard nothing, I can start a complaint as i've checked my online DMP account and it's confirmed that contact has been sent.

    I love Westcot already!

    Said no-one. Ever.

I've just received my first 2 default notices today.

    Blimey, they're a bit scary, aren't they?

Talking about further action that might now be taken against me and "you must read this carefully" and sending an information booklet with it :-/

Quick is what you want as it *should* mean that they freeze the interest on your debts ! - also you are now 6 years away from the defaults dropping off your credit file !.

The booklets are what they have to send you by law, keep them along with the default notices as mementos of your past (indebted) life !.

    Thank you for this.

Oh goodness, I've just seen that natwest have also cancelled my "repayment account" and added the balance to my already hugely overdrawn current account.

It looks bad. I def have to make sure my salary doesn't go into that account this month!

I'm in exactly the same boat as you TTDI (and we started our SC plans at the same time).

Hellifax are removing my planned overdraft next week, I owe £600 on the OD and they will just pile on fees after that.

They have a "specially trained Money Management Team" for worries. Really sympathetic until I refused to provide them with I&E details over the phone and told them to get in touch with SC. Weren't so nice after that.

I love reading their Twitter feed......not popular at all.
