I hope you get your money back OP as I agree that not all damp is caused by lack of ventilation. My house (not rented) is stupidly damp and all of them in my street seem to be the same. I use a dehumidifier almost daily and am always flinging windows and back door open. I will never rent my house out if I move as I know it will grow mushrooms within days without constant vigilance. Even my leather sofa and wooden sideboard get mildew if I do not wipe it away weekly (and they not on external walls!). My bay window sprouts black mould as well as salty bubbles. I suspect I have an air brick/old window/damp proof course problem but do not have the dosh to sort it out. Anyway, just posting to back up the few people who understand that it is not always 'condensation'.
