Famous furniture retailer

Hi all
I have purchased a suite from a famous furniture company which is flawed. The company is refusing any form of reparation. The purchase was made in January. I am trying to contact the chairman of the company because all other avenues have been closed. However, office staff are 'shielding' the chairman/directors and refusing to give me contact details. My question is 'can this be right that I am not allowed to know the contact details of the top people in a company?' What are my consumer rights? Do I HAVE to deal via their secretarial staff?
Does anyone have a direct quote I can use in my next email to them as I'm getting very frustrated by this?!
Many thanks in advance for any help you can offer me.

Can you not find the information you need from Companies House?

In most cases complaints to the chairman get passed back down the chain. Perhaps you could tell us which retailer it is, and what the problem is?

Thank you. Never heard of Companies House but doesn't have any details for me I'm afraid. The company is Cousins and the details of the issue are SO complicated..... in simple terms the suite is unacceptable and the 'grass root' staff are unwilling to act upon it.
I would appreciate any advice or info on how to contact the Chairman. Even if it gets passed down, I think if the chairman says 'Deal with it!' - they will!!"
    Thank you

Googling 'Cousins furniture managing director' will give you something to work with.

If you look on the Cousins website (particularly the Careers page) their email addresses seem to be in the format firstname.surname@cousinsfurniture.co.uk

There are some names of senior figures in the company at the bottom of the History page http://www.cousinsfurniture.co.uk/history/content/fcp-content

So putting all of the above together you should be able to work out some email addresses that might be of use to you.

I know that the chairman is Robert Shotton from the website etc but I can't find out how to contact him without going through the 'contact us' BARRIER.
I've never known such a tight knit community!
Is there any legislation which gives the public the right to find out contact details?

You deal with people authorised to take and deal with your complaint, you don't have the given right to deal with anyone other than those authorised to do so.

If you want to sue them then again you sue the company and they send a rep who can handle the matter, again they choose who represents them and you cant speak to or communicate with anyone who doesn't want to communicate with you.

Don't listen to that you deal with the highest ranking person you can, being a customer gives you the rights.
