That's not a blacklist unless it's is to with fraud and we all know or should know that CIFAS exists. Circumstances improve and every lender should know that. Do you think that if you previously defaulted on a loan and paid it off and then you applied to the same loan company they would automatically refuse you without checking on your current circumstances? Well, if you think that then you don't know lenders and you most definitely have never worked for a bank in your whole life.

Lenders view you in terms of just two things, profit potential and the likelihood of you defaulting.

I think you'll find my post on the first page which you claim to have read says, there is a blacklist but it's not credit based. If you have trouble understanding this then I'm sorry I can't help you.

I most certainly do work for a bank and couldn't give a tiny rats !!! whether you believe me or not random internet person:rotfl:

I don't know who you are and where you work. I can just go by what you post and what you post doesn't not translate to me as coming from a bank type of person. In fact I would go so far as to say that if you are indeed working for a bank then you are more likely to be sweeping up.

This thread is packed with unsubstantiated claims. No proof. If that proof is provided then I'll agree. Until that proof is provided then unfortunately I can only disagree but I can't qualify that disagreement with proof. It's impossible for anyone to prove that something does not exist.

earlier this afternoon at http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=65733339&postcount=18, writing this is what you meant by "other things to do":

Proof? Sure I'll just go giving away banking secrets, that sounds like a great plan:rotfl:

In fact we are categorically told not to divulge any information like that for obvious reasons. The fact you ask for "proof" demonstrates your lack of understanding as to how things like this work.

A bank type person? What is that when it's at home? I work with a very diverse range of people, trying to pigeonhole them as bank type people would be hard.

The various PMs I've received indicate others agree with me too. Not that you'll believe that either without proof. Ah well, guess you'll have to continue being ignorant on that too.

I think I might be missing something here and it's not my brains: If you are not supposed to divulge it then why did you divulge it.

Oh bank people have an aura of their own. There are also such things as bank-type decisions and bank-type investment strategies.

My last in this thread. Pointless continuing.

I'm pretty sure it's well known (well to others, not you it would seem) that non credit based blacklists do exist.

So I've not said anything that isn't known already. I'm simply not giving any details away to lay persons such as yourself and whoever else might be reading, as that wouldn't be sensible.

You're spot on gunsandbanjos. I declined an application last week purely on the basis of the answers the applicant gave to my questions about what they'd put on the application form. Their credit score didn't come into the equation at any time.

There's no way that person will get any banking facilities from us in the future. Call it what you like, "Blacklist" whatever, the fact is that banks can choose who they want to do business with, for whatever reason.

So if I was that person and I won £20m on Euromillions and I applied to that bank again they would automatically refuse my application and therefore miss out on a balance of that £20m? Hmmm.

Oops I said I was leaving this thread. Sorry about that.

Thank you Meer. Maybe captain know-it-all will believe you as he seems to be unable to believe me. It seems my aura isn't right for a banking person...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you seem to be of the opinion that the banks, your bank (and I bet your superiors don't know you're posting on here) are doing customers a favour by allowing them to avail themselves of your wonderful services. If this is so, then you couldn't be further from the truth. The customer does you an immense favour by lending you their dosh for next to no interest, or by paying interest on the money you lend them. The customer pays your wage and the shareholders' dividends. You are totally dependent on them.
