One way to save money is to pay for a year of line rental in advance.0

Hi
spoke with talktalk who advised if i paid 12 months line rental upfront it would be reduced to 20.00 per month!
Ive also spoken with bt who also worked it out at 20.00 per month with the upfront line rental payment.
Just not sure who's internet is better?Instincts are telling me to go with BT?0 -
j3251,get back on to Talktalk and haggle for a better deal!
I called them last night as my package runs out at the end of June ( I do pay my line rental up-front as one off payment,it saves a lot of money )
The deal i got was Essentials package £2.25 a month for 12 months plus a credit of £22.25!! ( first 10 months free! )
Free youview box, i said i did not want one as the router is to far away from the TV and did not want cables running all round the room,They have given me FREE POWER ADAPTORS to run it.
Do not know how they make any money but not my worry, have been with them for about 4 years.
Just a tip.when you ring up ( its free from a t/t phone ) if the person who answers does not speak good english, just hang up and try again till you get someone who you can have a sensible conversation with.
Regards

Hi
With talk talk it worked out 20.00 per month that was with myself paying 12 months line rental in advance giving me unlimited broadband, unlimited calls local,01,02,03 0845 0870
I vaguely remember them offering me a free you view box, declined it as i have built in free view though will ask them about it also asking for adapter.
Spoke with BT who are doing the contract over 18 months, paying them 12 months line rental with the same deal works out at roughly 23.00 per month (though they are giving a 100.00 sainsbury card free with deal)
If i was to also subtract the 100.00 voucher it would bring my monthly line rental to 17.00 roughly.
BT quoted 539.82 for the 18 months.I then subtracted the 130.00 saving for paying 12 months line rental in advance then subtracting the 100.00 voucher giving me 309.82 for 18 months working out at 17.21 per month roughly.
Unsure of which way to look at it money wise?Do i count the 100.00 voucher and take it of the bill or do i not? Also had a friend who has had nothing but hassle from bt broadband, going through numerous calls to broadband boxes0 -
Like for like, Sky would be £27.90 a month all in if you take their TV, or £30.40 a month all in if you don't.
I'd try and haggle with TalkTalk again, call them on 0870 444 1820 from your landline and ask for the loyalty department as I have had some great deals from them (like Ganga says, I sometimes wonder how they make a profit).0 -
Hi
Will ring them shortly, shall try again thanks0 -
Spoke with talktalk managed to haggle them down to £20 per month which gives me,unlimited broadband, line rental, unlimited local calls 01 02 03 0870 0845 24/7 (as long as I don't exceed the hour I think?)
Also got them to send out free youview box, wireless adapter, router.
Also going to start paying bill with debit card as soon as it's generated giving me a further 15% off my bill opposed to direct debit, considering paying 12 months line rental which saves me £50!
Thanks for the help and advice0 -
Remember that an LLU to LLU transfer may not be possible, Sky may need to supply a new line. If so make sure that they absorb the cost.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
-
Whats LLU?? also whats sky got to do with it?I ended up staying with talktalk?0
-
Local Loop Unbundled. The service offered by both Sky and TT, as opposed to a resold BT Wholesale product.
You proposed a switch to Sky, in your original post...since you've stayed with TT, the LLU issue does not arise-at least until such time as you want to move from TT.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
