Would I legally be able to go and collect the car and take it, as the work has not been completed? ThanksHere today, hospital tomorrow0

They may ask for payment for the work done so far. If they are blaming your used part them you will need to prove otherwise to get your money back.
Why did you get them to fit a a used pump when you say it was running fine previously?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
The old fuel pump had a leaky seal and was dribbling diesel. I was going to get the old pump off them and reseal it to have a spare in the future. Ive got an email off them saying they don't have the correct tools to complete the job and that the timing is still off. Here today, hospital tomorrow0

Actually you don't have legal right to just collect the car. As it was in for repair rather than service, the garage operator can exercise his lien over the car.
No car until you pay up.0 -
Even if I have an email from the garage showing that its not fixed and they cant fix it?Here today, hospital tomorrow0

OP, this isn't going to get fixed on a keyboard.0

What lien? The car went in for repair. The garage knew beforehand what the repair involved. The garage never had the equipment to carry out the repair. So the garage couldn't actually do the work they quoted for, and never had any intention of doing the work. So no lien is possible, as they never had any intention of providing the repair at any stage. The question is, can the op uplift the car without them getting in the way?0 -
An update for you all, spoken to a solicitor, I can remove the vehicle whenever I want, and that I may also enlist the services of the police to get it. Thanks Nobby, I cant believe some people on here actually like starting arguments where there shouldn't be any. I asked for advice, not a !!!!!ing comp. Seriously grow up.Here today, hospital tomorrow0
