I did this thread in January and it became very popular with a lot of people adding to it. January was a while ago so I imagine a lot of people have just joined MSE and are looking for ways to make the extra cash that they need to clear their debts!
So I want people to post on here things that they have sold on ebay that they never thought would sell. A few examples from last time were empty perfume bottles and tax disks for cars. You could just share your selling stories too.
This will get everyone on here thinking "ohh, I've got one of those. Maybe I could sell it!"
So come on people get posting. And get selling your junk (or maybe another person's treasure)!!!!:T

Martin's wrong, there is such a thing as a stupid question: "Is this good value?" "Will it work?" - there are two!0 -
I am doing OK selling £ shop items at moment. Not saying which ones though, as I am doing well . . .
Just think outside the box.
Its all in the quality of the listing.0 -
 Mornin' lovelies!
I find there's no logic to eBay at all!Things I think will do well - don't - and old tat I put on just on the off chance ignites a bidding war!
For example: I grabbed three or four videos at the end of a carboot and offered the fella £3.50 for them.
He said "take these two as well and call it a fiver?"
So I did, and after I'd watched them, I put them up on eBay on free listing day starting at 99p just to see.
:j and one of them sold for £84! :j
Evidently it's one that was hard to get hold of, and has never been released on DVD.
"Naked Tango" it was called, starring Vincent D'Onofrio from Law & Order Criminal Intent.
(and yes it was one the two the guy persuaded me to add to my pile!)
Recently I sold some nearly new bras because as I've been losing a bit of weight I'd changed size, and I got an email asking me if the bra would be washed before it was sent.
So I reassured them that of course the item would be freshly laundered prior to posting,,
and they said actually they'd prefer if it wasn't washed at all.
Which I found a bit surprising. To say the least!
And I got other emails asking if I could email them pictures.
I pointed out that there were six detailed close-up pictures in the listing that could be enlarged just by clicking, and they were welcome to cut and paste those.
But they messaged back to say that they'd already done that and now wanted pics of the bra being worn.
Blimey. :rotfl:

I sewed eyes and a mouth on her and told a sad story about how she'd lost her other half. Here she is, I think she made me a couple of quid!Susie Sock is Sad. Susie needs YOUR help. Here is Susie's tragic story...Susie and Sammy were made together on the same day in the same factory. They were together all the way through Matalan. They were so happy when they moved into their own little sock drawer together... but their happiness was not to last.Susie last saw her bestest friend and partner, Sammy Sock, in a hostel in Amsterdam in 2002... she hasn't seen or heard from him since. Susie hopes Sammy didn't run off with a Sexy Stocking!Susie has spent the last three lonely years moping round the sock drawer she'd shared so briefly with Sammy. Susie is very sad; she still misses Sammy very much. Can you help Susie? Maybe you stayed in Durty Nelly's on Warmoesstraat in March 2002, in the big dorm, second on the right, bottom bunk, and found Sammy!Or maybe you know of another lonely sock who can be Susie's friend, a sock who can help her move on... Are YOU that sock?
That's brilliant PennyPinchingPrincess!:rotfl:
