Hi,
I parked over two hours in Toys R Us, Plymouth (Western Approach). I do live in Plymouth and the letter says: Contractual Parking Charge Notice from G24.
They are giving me 3 options;
1. Pay
2. If it was not, give the driver details (it was me anyway)
3. Make a representation against the issue of the Parking Charge.
What should I do now? I am really scare....as If I dont do any of that options in 28 days....they will have the right to take recovery action against me.
Could i get any help from you, please? Thank you very much in advance!

1. Don't pay.
2. Read this - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822
3. Wait for NTK
4. Appeal
And it's easier for the regulars if you start your own thread.0 -

Hello & welcome to MSE :hello:
Your posts have been moved to a new thread so all info and replies can be kept in one place for you0 -
Fergie sums it up well. In the thread he sent you to, there is a template to basically copy and paste and send as an appeal to G24.
Don't worry about whether they apply to you, take our word for it, they do.
You will probably get a rejection of your appeal ,but they should give you a POPLA appeal reference.
Look on same thread further down and there will be a link to examples to use, but this will in a few weeks time.
In the meanwhile, if you were a customer at Toys R Us, of and ask them to cancel the parking charge notice.Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Click on words Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Newbie thread is the first post. Blue New Thread button is just above it to left.0 -
Hot Bring's shorter letter in quotes below could also be used with G24. It has been very successful and G24 often cancel the charge pretty quickly following its receipt.Dear G24,
This is an appeal against the charge issued to the vehicle with the registration XXXXXX, charge reference XXXX.
It is the registered keepers assertion that :
1. The charge is not a genuine pre-estimate of loss.
2. That the signage does not conform to the BPA CoP to which G24 has committed.
3. That G24 has no authority to issue charges over the land in question.
As such the charge is rejected. You should now either cancel said charge or provide a POPLA code for the registered keeper to appeal to the independent adjudicator.
Any further correspondence other than confirmation of cancellation or a POPLA code will be considered harassment and could result in legal action being taken against you.
Yours,

Follow ColliesCarer's rather excellent advice. G24 are !!!!!!s and can easily be defeated.

Hi nomoneyforfine,
Just for the record I am in exactly the same position as yourself and have found myself here. Ours too is for the Western Approach Car Park at toys are us in Plymouth. We have bank statements to show we shopped there so we'll see what they say when i present them with that.
Good luck!

is there any reason we can't use the appealyourcharge.co.uk website and do it this way?0

I've just put a post on Toys R Us facebook page as well asking for assistance:
Hi,
We have been, like many of your customers I'm sure, caught out by the firm you use to manage your parking at Western Approach Plymouth store. We frequently use your store and frequently have our 4 year old and 7 year old in tow, which means we spend a lot of time (and a lot of money!!!) in your store. For our troubles we have now been issued with a £100 "contractual parking charge notice" from a company called G24 for staying longer than we are allowed!.
I have a proof... of purchase which I can provide (by way of bank statements as I am unable to find our receipts) for the date in question. Are you able to intervene on our behalf and cancel this ludicrous and extremely excessive "contractual" parking charge?
many thanks
Usually a happy Toys R Us customer!
