I've had to take a break from this as it's frustrating to know end doing missions that remind me of GTA 4. I am not an advanced gamer and so spent about 6 hours trying to chase and kill someone in a car. I get it needs to be challenging but some of it just really annoys the heck out of me!!

On top of that in said chase scene everytime I tried to raise the bridges and stuff using my phone, it went up a third and fell again - what's the point of having these hacks if you can't use them in missions/chases??
The truth is out there... and I want to believe

    Hiya,

Well I'm not a gamer myself but my hubby and son absolutely love it! Said it's one of the best games they've played.

I'm not complaining - it means I get more time to myself hahah!

I've been playing it a couple of days and well, there's an itch I can't scratch with it, I'm used to GTA rip offs, some are good (Sleeping Dogs) & some are bad, but this is inbetween. It's very much a mash up of GTA, Deus Ex & Assassins Creed, but not quite as good as each of them - not that it's a "bad" game, just not as good as it should have been.

(Not going to comment on the graphics since I'm playing on 360 and so it's not optimised for it)

The driving on the other hand is poor, very very VERY poor!

The game has a shed load of flaws, but overall I think its a pretty solid game.

I have enjoyed the story and the game itself is a nice fresh idea.

I expect a Watch_Dogs 2 and I expect that to be a masterpiece given Ubisoft and their gaming history.

I found it to be fairly disappointing and incredibly disjointed. There are good parts, I liked the multi-phase setup to infiltrating Iraq's tower block, but everything builds to an ending and you don't even realize it because it's so ultimately uneventful.

Plus there's the general disconnect between people either knowing or not knowing that Aiden Pierce is the vigilante, who is alternatively referred to as The Fox for no reason. It's publicly broadcast that Aiden Pierce is the vigilante yet his sister doesn't know that it's him, and the news can't connect the mysterious death of someone with the same surname and easily identifiable as his niece, to him.

Plus the game underdelivers on the whole prospect of hacking and kills off it's only really interesting character.

Overrated let down, that maybe could improve with a sequel but I wouldn't pay full price for it.

Overall disappointing! So much hype, but has fallen well short!

Can definitely tell it's been rushed!

Can't argue with that, the gameplay is extremely "samey" and ultimately it usually follows a set routine - entirely the same as the first Assassins Creed in that respect. There was something missing I felt, I mean from about a quarter of the way through it was blindingly obvious what the finale would lead to which kinda left me feeling empty.

Besides that fact it is a very unforgiving game in areas which makes it incredibly frustrating, for example one mission near the end fails as soon as the cops spot you! There's also the fact if you do happen to fail a part which is dominated by dialogue there's no option to skip it, so one part where I had to defeat 5 bad guys ultimately took 3-4 minutes each attempt as I had to listen to a bunch of blah blah.

It's been rushed, but it's also been left open for a sequel, one can only hope that if they elect to do so it'll be significantly better, because as of now I'm feeling pretty good that I only borrowed it! I'd have been peeved if I'd paid for that if I'm being totally honest!

  • Not long finished this...

It's a bit of a mixed bag. Some things worked really well and some things were just terrible. There were a few mission which just made me think 'why am I bothering' which is never a good sign.

    Bad-

The police in this are utterly insane, constantly clattering into civilians. This shouldn't be happening with better tech on next gen.

Why can't I aim a gun from inside a car?

Instant fail states. Why? Some of the missions were willfully hateful.

Some of the hacking stuff worked well though. Despite the games instance on trying to make you play pipe mania every so often.

Overall I think they'll iron out the bugs, so the second one is probably going to be excellent in the same vein as Assassin's Creed.
