It is strange how expedite electronics has been so highly praised by new posters with low post counts. Bear in mind folks that anyone can join this forum, including people in Hong Kong, and post anything. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

Many companies have been caught out by writing their own "customer reviews". It happens all the time, most probably doesn't get reported or noticed. That's why I mostly ignore the positive reviews and read the negative ones. If most of the negative ones all seem to corroborate with each other then that's worth noting.
A strong lesson learnt on my part. I shall be avoiding any company that doesn't have a proven track record of decent level of customer service even if I end up paying a little bit more. I'll just think of it as I'm paying for decent customer service.0 -
Would strongly advise against this company. Purchased a Surface Pro which, bar the odd occasion, I could not turn on. Returned it for repair, the day after it was returned after being sent for repair in Hong Kong, it stopped working again. Have contacted the UK call centre both by email and phone who have forwarded my complaint and request for a refund to the head office in Hong Kong but have heard nothing. I am out of pocket for both the cost of the tablet plus the keyboard which you have to buy separately and which I now have no use for. Agree will never use any company without a decent and UK-based track record.
If anyone has any ideas of how I can get my money back, I would love to hear from them ...0 -
Having searched through many forums, concerning this company, it seems that warranty and refund/repair leave much to be desired. There is a chance that you'll receive what you wanted and there'll be no need to contact them again. Should there be a problem, then be prepared for a fight. Some customers have reported losing their money, because they paid directly, through the company's website. PayPal users have been fortunate in being able to obtain their money back (from the posts I have read, anyway). There's a risk involved, no matter what. Fingers crossed you receive the product you desire and that it functions as it should. I, too, had been looking for an item and I was, repeatedly directed to this company's site. It was cheaper than anywhere else and so I spent time reading through different forums, to inform my decision. The risk of a faulty product was enough to put me off. If the issue of customer service was solved, they would have many more customers than they do, at present. It is when things go wrong, that a company will prove how much their customers mean to them. Customer service is vital, without which, they may as well be selling on the street.0

An absolutely terrible company.
No contact on a faulty goods, no desire to communicate, what is going on or take responsibility. The UK call centre, while polite and helpful, can only pass messages so you get nowhere whilst paying for the privilege of phoning them.
The Bargepole quote above is correct. Avoid, Avoid, Avoid.0 -
Purchasing phones from Expedite is fine, as long as you don't mind a bit of a wait. The problem is if you need to return your device to be fixed or to be refunded ! It's a very very long process with appalling communication , robotic type standard replies when they do answer your emails and just an all round awful experience! I waited 5 weeks and then had to demand a refund and I had no option but to threaten legal action. I even had to expose them on both Facebook & Twitter before they would react. My advice is to pay the extra £20- £30 and purchase from a reputable company. Never again will I use Expedite Electronics and I warn you to avoid them also!0

Yeah, I too will never use Expedite Electronics again. I agree that most people's bad experience is with their repair/warranty service but also, there are a good number of people who have complained even about purchases. Such as taking money before shipping their item or receiving the incorrect item from the outset and then having a world of pain just to get the correct order.
I definitely agree, if you have any sense then spend a bit more and buy from a reputable place. Expedite Electronics is a joke and I learnt the hard way. Hopefully these comments will allow others to learn the easy way.0 -
I ordered a camera, SD card and lens from Expedite using PayPal. Received an email a few days later saying lens out of stock. I replied, asking them to refund lens cost and send the rest, and also phoned UK centre to confirm.
Received email saying they would proceed with order, and PayPal refund for lens. Received another email the next day from different rep saying they were refunding everything (no explanation) + second PayPal refund for remainder. UK call centre unable to explain second refund, as order still showing as "processing".
So 8 days later, I have all my PayPal money refunded, and I'm none the wiser about my order, so have phoned UK centre to formally cancel order.
Expedite may be fine if your order is straightforward, but it appears they are not very good if anything out of the ordinary happens, and the UK centre, while helpful, don't seem to be fully connected to Hong Kong.0 -

I'm really sorry to say but even if the order went through fine, I do not think that is the end of possible problems. There is a whole world of pain if you need to get in touch with them for anything after sales support related. I sent them my Nexus 5 for a warranty repair, they had it for almost 9 weeks. That level of service is just so far beyond unacceptable. Wouldn't touch them with a barge pole no matter how cheap they are. Save yourself some hassle (and probably money in the long run) spend a bit more upfront and buy from a more reputable place.0 -
Before you buy from Expedite Electronics, please make sure you understnd the situation with the warranty. I believe it is common practice for them to import products from outside the EU, which invalidates the manufacturer's warranty, hence the "365 day waranty" they state they provide on their web site.
My experience is an example of this: I bought a Samsung device from them which developed a fault after 18 months. I rang up Samsung, who normally provide a 2 year warranty and, when I gave them the serial number, was told that it had been supported from outside the EU and hence they would not honour the warranty. I called Expedite Electronics and their representative confirmed this.
It is also worth bearing in mind that, in common with all supplier's warranties, if Expedite Electronics cease trading in the future, there goes your warranty.0
