Expedite Electronics

Just thought I'd share my experiences of buying a new phone with a rather unknown company based in Hong Kong in case others are interested.

After a little deliberation and checking out found forum thread titled "Anyone used Expedite Electronics" very helpful (sorry can't post a link due to board restrictions - just search for it on Google) I bought the dual sim, 16Gb version of the Motorola Moto G from Expedite Electronics - expeditelectronics.com. I reasoned that I was covered once under PayPal's buyer protection policy and a second time by the credit card company if any problems.

But within a few days all that proved unnecessary as the product arrived in what appears to be original packaging, brand new and unmodified.

I had to contact my service provider, Tesco Mobile, before I could access mobile data services, full details of which I have posted on the Motorola support forum forums.motorola.com /posts/69886337e9 (remove the space to access the link - again to circumvent board restrictions) in case it helps anyone else but this post is really just to share my experiences in case it helps anyone else in my position - having found a good deal and wondering whether to trust it.

  • Good afternoon,

I am planning on getting my boyfriend a Sony Cyber-shot DCS-RX100 camera. I was going to get Mark I for £319 from John Lewis. Mark II costs £479 from John Lewis, which is above my budget. Then, I found the Mark II camera on expediteelectronics.com for £365 only! Do you guys know if all of their products are brand new? Should I risk it and buy it from this website I've never heard of before? If they are new I might as well get him the Mark II one from this site instead of Mark I from John Lewis.

Any suggestions will help because I'm absolutely terrible at making decisions.

    Cheers!

  • I searched for info on Expedite last week as I wanted a pair of Nikon Monarch binocolars and Amazon listed expedite far cheaper than anywhere else but without their 'A-Z guarantee'.
After following forum advice and settng my paypal account to charge my credit card rather than bank I placed the order on 30th Dec. I received the confirmation email straight away, the parcelforce tracking info on the 31st and it appeared on the parcelforce page on Friday 2nd Jan ( after New year!). The delivery was shown as express 24 (excl Saturdays) and the package arrived today Monday 5th Jan, just 3 working days after the order was placed.
The box is a normal sealed retail and wrapped in a bubblewrap bag inside the usual plastic shipping bag. I've saved from memory £66 having paid £199 incl free delivery.
  • Hi,

Can anyone who's bought a new phone from Expedite Electronics tell me if they come with UK or foreign firmware installed please? I want to be sure whether the discount is worth it as returning stuff doesn't appear all that easy.

    Thanks!

No idea about phones but I'm confident that they will be in English. I bought 2 ipad Air units for the kids for Christmas (£275 each rather than £315 each) and they came with UK chargers and everything. No issues at all with delivery or anything. They are shipped from the UK so returns should be very easy. Hope that helps

Did you end up ordering? The few review threads about these guys are loaded with newbies, benevolently expounding their happy experiences. But there are 1 or 2 that look like genuine shoppers (including you and mwddrwg). Any update?
