Hmm, dreadful night sleep, just as well I am working at home today, couldn't face an hour and a quarter drive to the office!

One of the reasons is my snoring :o - as I have put on weight my snoring has got worse. When I lost weight it stopped. Last night I kept us both awake :(

I need to do something about it as I am about 2.5 stone overweight - someone (NewGirly?) mentioned a blog called Hungry Healthy Happy which is about clean eating and exercise and I think I need to do something like this rather than looking for a quick fix.

I find I am struggling to do things which should be easy and this week has been a revelation when we have been doing physical work which shouldn't be a problem at our age but which has really taken it out of us and been more difficult than it should.

Alcohol is an issue - we have drunk every night of our holiday, except yesterday. I would really like to cut it out for a while which is not a problem during the week but I know we struggle at weekends as it is our way of relaxing. Need to give this some thought but we can eat as well as we like during the week, if we are sinking 2 bottles of wine on both Friday and Saturday nights, we will undo all our good work.

OH is away next weekend so I pledge not to drink at all from now until 10th July.

Exercise - being out the house for 12 hours and studying 2 days a week (out the house for 16 hours on those days) doesn't lend itself to exercise. Our new office (moving this week) has a gym and the company is being flexible so I could potentially start a little earlier and go to the gym at lunchtime.

I will also get my Wii Fit set up this week and try and use that for 20 minutes - I MUST be able to fit that in!

On financial news, got another tenner for selling an old freezer on Gumtree - something to OP and something else out of the garage :T

Right, cup of tea then get myself set up for work.

I'm with you on the alcohol. I'm about a stone overweight and I want to lose it. I am fairly good with the exercise but undo it all with the wine.

I wrote about alcohol on my diary this week as well. My and OH are drinking far too much and need to cut down - both for our budgets and our health. Looks like we're all heading for an MSE-low-alcohol month :)

Glad it's not just me, we can support each other :)

Had fruit and yoghurt for breakfast and about to have freezer surprise for lunch (I think it's vegetable curry but not really sure!) Might do beef stir fry for dinner, will check with OH if he's happy with that.

Will go for a walk after I have eaten, need to post something to HMRC so will walk to the post box.

Lovely day here, load of washing on the line and another about to go on.

£400 transferred to offset, will update figures on Wednesday / Thursday after mortgage has been paid.
  • Perhaps you could invest in some hypnotherapy. BF has just had 2 sessions for insomnia and its really helped. They can also help with giving up stuff too :)

Thanks OCC, I used hypnotherapy when I gave up smoking (the first time!)

Not sure I want to give up but do need to cut back a lot. Being AF this weekend should help start the process of reducing.

One of the most enjoyable parts of watching my pennies so far has been the sheer variety of lunches I've taken to work. Today I have the left-overs of yesterday's fried rice and noodles. Yummy!

(Although I am slightly nervous about having reheated the egg fried rice that my husband cooked yesterday using left-over rice from Saturday... but i'm half-way through the bowl-full already, so I might as well carry on now! :rotfl:)
