Not sure where i stand with this PCN issued to me today. I was driving into a local car park in Cornwall, it was pretty packed and access was difficult due to the number of cars entering/exiting the car park. On entering i was asked if i wanted this other persons parking ticket he said it was valid until the next day so i was happy to accept. I checked the ticket was valid and affixed it to my windscreen. On returning i had a PCN stuck to my windscreen, the ticket had fallen down and was in the drivers foot-well. The PCN was issued for not displaying a valid ticket. On further scrutiny the ticket says it is non-transferable and it is one of those special tickets that you have to enter your last 3 letters of the car registration; which does not match my car. After all this evidence against me, my question is should i just pay the charge and accept that i should not have accepted the guys ticket. The company involved is Armtrac. Your advice will be much appreciated.

Since Armtrac don't appear to be members of BPA or IPC they shouldn't be able to pay to the DVLA for the keepers details. This means they have no way of identifying you.
Sit back and wait to see if a Notice to keeper arrives, then post back with details. Armtrac may trade under another name. In theory you shouldn't hear from them. Don't contact them in response to the windscreen notice.
In the meanwhile read the NEWBIES thread above to read up on the advice given for appeals should you need to pay. Circumstances of ticket play little role in the appeals process.Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. They are in the AOS
KBT Cornwall Limited t/as Armtrac Security Services
So wait for the notice to keeper and appeal using the appeal wording in coupons sticky threadWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Ah my bad, sorry. I checked the list but missed that. Will read more carefully next time. But in the meanwhile as I said before read and get to understand the Newbies thread so you are prepared when NTK arrives.Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Thanks for the replies, so ARMTRAC are part of the BPA. And am i correct that i should follow the procedure in the thread, even though i was given the ticket, it did not have my Reg No on it and it fell off the windscreen!! Although i really do not want to settle the charge it seems that everything is stacked against me for a successful outcome.0

just follow the appeal procedures in the NEWBIES post , and lose the guilt complex0

You'll win this at POPLA if you follow the usual guidlines...i.e. no mitigating circumstances crap....
However, if you lose at POPLA, it might have been better to pay Amstrad their £60 because you'll have a poor case in court, and they most likely will do court. It sounds as it is could have been the same car park I was in last year. They take good photos, so it will be clear that you have no ticket on the screen. Producing the ticket won't help as it is clear you have transferred it.
In other words...make sure you win at POPLA or pay now and forget it.0 -

Thanks for the advice. I will wait for the letter from the PCC and take it from there. I think my only chance for an outright win with POPLA will be the GPEOL.0

GPEOL will probably be the winner, but do include all the points in the template they are there for good reason.Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking.
