I go to Qeens Physical Education Centre and they are offerring two options

'Pay & Play' - £60 per annum + £1.80 admission each time you attend
or 'Annual' - £210 per annum, with no admission charges

    Link to Membership details

But it does depend on what you are looking for,
they run regular classes circuits bums and tums etc.
    it has a 33m pool,
    good weights room,
    squash courts

They have been charging me £23 a month this past 2 years which equates to £270 a year. Are they now ripping me off? I only get use of the fitness studio. I would not have noticed only I saw your post.
  • £30/month gets you unlimited gym/swim/racket sports etc as well as discounted laser quest. This applies to any Belfast Leisure Centre. The new Grove Wellbeing centre is pretty nice. There are other levels of membership too.

    Details are on their website.

FitSpace on the Boucher road is £16 per month, no contract. First month is £29.

They have everything you need minus a swimming pool. I've been a member since Aug 08 and since then a couple of my mates have joined. They are all happy.

If you pop down they'll let you have a look about no problem.

My advice is don't under any circumstances join a private gym unless you are definitely going to use long term (contract). My daughter (17) joined esporta on a whim - never went - sales pressure was extreme. She tried to cancel but they wouldn't accept this. They are now harrassing her for fees 1400 pounds!! I mean hard harressment - first of all arc debt collectors, now belfast debt collection. Any one any advice to get them off my daughters back?

Pay up! Sorry. If she signed a contract, she probably won't have any legal rights.

No. Fitness only membership costs £25 a month at the moment.

I have heard very bad reports about Esporta. Could she not get a letter from the doctor saying she is unable to use the gym ( i'm sure she could invent some ailment ) At 17 they dont think "what if i dont want to or have time to use the gym" etc.... No child wants that debt hangng over their head.....I def would refuse to pay it......Regardless of the idiots on here who say "oh just pay up"....

The post you are referring to is now nearly 4 years old. They did used to offer pay and play memberships but I think it's now £6 to get in if you aren't a member  so the pay and play is pretty much dead. That was before the new extension was built too and frankly the facilities were barely worth paying for at all at that time.

£23 a month sounds okay to me personally...

By idiots one can only assume you are referring to me. Thanks. If they're pursuing her through a debt collection agency then they're obviously serious about getting her to pay up. Read the contract she signed when she joined up. You'll probably find that you're at their mercy and legally won't have a leg to stand on. Good luck though :)
