On the VERY FIRST LINE of this thread it says something about "mildly insane". Mildy?!?!?! Total bonkersness I would say. Thank you (all) for making me so welcome!
That's only because we don't want to frighten the newbies too much.;)Because I know you were all biting your nails in anticipation ... I got a nice cold drink when I got home ... A pre-cooled, need to use it up because it's been open since Saturday, glass of fizz
AND therefore NSD #15 for me - oh yeeaahhh!
Phew, great self-control t2rry!Evening all, I have just about recovers from the hockey shinanegans,
the doctors assured me that my vision should return to normal after about 3-6 months thanks to the pilchard margaritas and the bruise on my foot from Hubert's dancing shouldn't affect my future in pole.
Joining you on that diet marmite i paid off our holiday :A but also means it left me somewhat poor, so although I was well in budget last month (pay day today) the holiday swallowed all that up. Still at least it's all paid off.
At the moment I seem to be leaking spends like a holey bucket. There always seems to be something on the list. Part of it I think is because I just want to get some things round the house sorted, so £20 on a tin of paint it was today  on the way I popped into L!dl (new one opened in our town :j) for a French stick for lunch (hm egg mayo with salmon) and also ended up getting some cod steaks for £1.70 on offer. I MUST tighten those purse strings.
How lovely,I'm not on my own then!:)

I have lime in Corona and lemon in Crabbies Ginger Beer. Tbh I'm not a massive lemonade fan (unless its traditional cloudy, or pink, or with a retro Martini
) and don't drink much else other than tea in the house (or the odd vino) I froze lemons after having a load left over from a L!dl deal, they're handy when you need juice for cooking - express thaw in a bowl of warm water. no use for zesting though.
Can't you zest them before you half and freeze them? That's what I do.ShirePiskie wrote: »I like this idea.... Romans, togas, gladiator, baths, wine...
Julius Caesar's Jubilant July NSD Challenge from EnnEssDium Collusium????
Oooh and another NSD for me today.
Please put the number!You're at 11 I think?And today was NSD #17
I couldn't have gone out spending (or even not spending) even if I'd wanted to - had to wait in until my passport was delivered, and was told it'd be between 9am and 5pm! Got a text yesterday morning informing me they'd "just" tried but no-one was in, and with a tracking number. Website informed me they'd left a card, but there was nothing in my mailbox. So I phoned, and it turned out 'just' meant 2:30pm on Monday - but I was still in then, and still didn't have a card. Not sure where they tried to leave it, but the chap on the phone informed me I have a green front door - which I don't. An explore up the estate turned up one green door, but not only is it the wrong street it's also a number 1 instead of 5 (with a clear - and huge - number ON the door!!!) I know some delivery chaps have trouble finding me 'cos I'm a bit tucked away, so I gave them notes on how to get here, and it actually turned up just after 1pm
I now need to research travel out for my Camino (and options for coming back, though I don't want to pre-book that unless I can get something with flexibility instead of fixed dates), so I've got an expensive spend day coming up in the next month or so
Have to admit I'm having a bit of a wobble about heading out just now, given my Dad's possible stroke last Friday. Clearly need to sort out travel insurance that will refund anything I've paid out for if I have to cancel due to his health, but also need to make sure they won't refuse to pay given the recent scare..... Already got problems because most policies only cover up to 30 days and I'm looking for 60
I hope your Dad's feeling better.0 -
NSD 5 achieved on Wednesday
WELL DONE!!!Nargleblast wrote: »Glad you're okay, marmite, you know how people worry when a regular doesn't post for a day or two.....Other Life stuff does have a habit of butting in occasionally......but if you've been watching Nadal then say no more, it is Wimbledon, after all! I assume you are also following your local hero Roger?
Russell Crowe..... I thought he was a bit wooden in the film......when you said that, Igor pricked up his ears. He is now locked in the basement at Ennessdee Towers ploughing through his DVD collection of Frankie Howerd in Up Pompeii......if July 's thread has a Roman theme then watch out for Igor and Hubert camping it up.....and I think the Romans did master the art of iced desserts even without the likes of Mr Whippy.
Ah yes,Woger. The trouble is that I would happily see Woger,Andy,Novak or Rafa win.Maybe more Rafa, because he won Roland Garros and I don't think he's won the two in a row,Novak because he's a nice guy,Andy (of course, being a good Scot),and Woger because he's as cool as a cucumber, and a legend to boot....
Can you ask Igor to bring along his copy of 'Carry On Cleo' and 'The Life of Brian'.They would really compliment our Frankie...and,let's face it,give Igor a few more recipes to work with....:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Nargleblast wrote: »So we could still have lashings of ice cream to go with the wine and roast dormouse.
