OK... this sounds like a super silly question...
We're going to Butlins. We've booked a few days
Just wondering: is it OK to leave your laptop in the rooms!!?
We've got silver apartments self catering
Thanks!!
I wasn't sure

I really wouldn't risk it to be honest, unless you can hide it really well,
Why not just leave it at home altogether and have a laptop free holiday.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
@McKneff thanks for the reply
I can't survive without a laptop!!
If necessary, I'll keep in the car boot
But I'm surprised to hear you warn?
Is it from experience?
Thanks0 -
I've been at least twice a year for a few years and always take iPads, tablets etc and leave on charge in the room whilst we are out! Never been a problem, just cover them over and shut the curtains. Plugs are usually in hallway parts.0

Butlins won't have insurance to cover you if your Ipad goes missing.
That's why you have travel insurance, which won't likely cover the cost of replacing your Ipad anyway. But that's another story.Hope over Fear. #VoteYes0 -
@redcard, why isn't the cost of replacing an iPad covered by travel insurance? Is it because of excess costs?0

When I have stayed at butlins someone in an apartment near us were broken into and had everything of value stolen including all their money for the week (they had only been there one night) they thought it was safer to leave it in the room than take out with them,
Butlins were not interested in the slightest as they didn't have butlins insurance, the police didn't want to know either!0 -

oh... erm.... really don't know what to do now!!0 -
You said 'I cant survive without my Ipad..... if it was stolen on the first night of your holiday, you would have to survive without it. Can you imagine the stress, finding your chalet burgled, police, all your personal belongings stolen, etc, etc, contacting insurance people, etc etc, maybe worrying about not being covered. Maybe not being covered. If you don't want that, tape the thing to your body......
LEAVE IT AT HOME....HAVE A HOLIDAY......make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

I have stayed at Butlins on quite a few occasions and only once was aware of anything, I found out as the people who were burgled were part of a large group all staying in separate apartments, the other members of the group took it upon themselves to knock on neighboring apartments to see if anyone had noticed anything. I must admit I was a bit scared at the sound of banging on our apartment door late at night  but understood why they did so.
In the morning when we left our apartment I at least expected to pass a sign or something asking if anyone had seen anything suspicious but no, nothing, butlins kept it quiet.
When I go now everything I take of value which isn't much I keep on me at all times and make sure I only have cash needed for the day.0
