Thanks for the info mate, i will ring SC tomorrow. I need to tell them of a change to my budget, so will ask the question about a
DRO.
Im not sure i will qualify though tbh, i may have too many "assets" such as jewllery, electronics etc
Will speak to SC and see what they recommend!
Good news then mate as none of those are considered assets
I can't post links unfortunately but google search Step Change Debt Relief Order guide and have a read through, hope you qualify!0 -
Any chance you could sell the jewellery, electronics etc., to realise some cash?0

Thanks for all the info about the DRO, hope you feel better from earlier mate.DEBT FREE AS OF 28/6/17 :j:beer:0 -
Great stuff, hope the call to SC goes well! and you're welcome for the info

I know exactly how you feel, wish I could go back and tell the younger me to be more responsible and never end up in this position but it's a little late for that! lol. You're facing up to it with the right mentality, keep us posted and i'll do the same

Hi Leigh,
I've read through your thread and don't know if I've missed some along the way?
So what is your position as of NOW? Have you got your latest batch of PDL's added onto your DMP?
If you are at the stage where you have no food or money to buy any then I suggest you go into full on scavenge mode and look around for anything you can sell... You make reference to jewelry, maybe you have something gold to sell? Remember you don't need to feast just get enough for basics until you get paid next...
What is your plan of attack next?
Finally, one thing you need to get straight in your mind is that DPL's are not vultures preying on your misfortune. Think of them more like Sirens looking to lure you further into a sea of debt but only if you choose to listen! The sooner you realise you are sabotaging yourself then the sooner you'll start to get out of this mess

Hi MB
We have spoken before, (about my pawnbroking loan against my chain)
I have pretty much sold or pawned evreything of any value now, so i am down to actually dealing with the debt rather than servicing. I do have a PS4 that i have a buy back loan on. This is due this week, when i get it back im going to sell it outright as i need the cash to live for the next 2-3 weeks.
No i have not added my new PDL's to my DMP. I want to ring SC and tell them the situation i am now in. I am worried they will chuck me off my dmp as ive added £1600 to my old debt
Im not sure what the next plan of attack is because, i have now realised a cannot afford to do a self managed dmp for new pdl debt. So ive got to tell step change or go on a DRO!
What do you suggest MB?
Hope things are well your end

Hi Leigh,
Ahhhh... I knew I remembered the name from somewhere
Ok, you really do need to speak to SC tomorrow morning but in the meantime have you contacted your PDL's and cancelled CPA's? Who are the lenders anyway (only curious, shouldn't make much difference)?
By all means enquire into the DRO but don't give up on the idea of your DMP because I'm of the understanding that you can add debt to your existing DMP so long as it's not a regular thing...
If it was me I'd probably speak to add the new debts first.
Second I'd explain that your income is going to be reduced or living is going to be more expensive (travelling for work for example) for the next few months so you can only afford token payments and then SAVE the money you are not paying to get an emergency fund set up*
Explain that it might be 4-6 months but you'll let them know ASAP and apologise and be repentant for running up more debt like a wally LOL then when you have a fund in place start making repayments, you'll need to do a new budget with them but be realistic!
*If you have problems saving or don't trust yourself with the money then give it to someone you can trust not to spend the money or give it to you when you whinge too much...

Yeah will deffo ring SC first thing in the morning as i need the ball moving on this rather quickly. No i have not got round to contacting PDL's or cancelling the CPA's yet as i have been busy over the weekend. This is also on list to do tomorrow.
New lenders are:
Mr Lender, Wage Day Advance, Cash Genie, Peachy and Clear Account. i owe £1600 on these overall :mad:By all means enquire into the DRO but don't give up on the idea of your DMP because I'm of the understanding that you can add debt to your existing DMP so long as it's not a regular thing...

Yes i would like to stay on my DMP but reading about the DRO, that may just suit me better as things are not going to get better financially for at least the next 2 years really.Second I'd explain that your income is going to be reduced or living is going to be more expensive (travelling for work for example) for the next few months so you can only afford token payments and then SAVE the money you are not paying to get an emergency fund set up*

i can think if more suitable words than wally mate LOL probably not allowed to say them on here though :rotfl:
Yes will get on with all this tomorrow, hopefully have some kind of direction to head towards tomorrow.
Just worried step change will wash their hands with me after breaking the terms and conditions of the dmp
Thanks for your great advice MB top poster !DEBT FREE AS OF 28/6/17 :j:beer:0 -
The ps4 was fully paid off months before i even started having trouble in all fairness. It will be the first thing that goes to help me raise cash towards my debts. .
You posted on here in February, saying that you had been in severe difficulties six months earlier. The PS4 came out at the end of November 2013...
You need to get your story straight, but I'll leave you to this one...0
