I must pay her as she will have no other way of funding her bills this month.

Ok i will get a letter typed up and get this sent to my creditors ASAP. I must do this as really do not want to be going down that road!!!

Fortunately in the last few mins, my mate has said he will lend me most of the money to get ps4 back, just need to find 20 quid now to cover all.

Not really got much else i can sell tbh, already been through all that last year :(

I'm saying that if you live together, and you pay her back, then you probably won't be able to pay some of your bills, but if you don't pay her back then she won't be able to pay some of hers. If you live together then you're both going to suffer no matter what you do, so seems like whatever you do, this coming month is going to hurt.

That's what I meant earlier about just accepting that you can't pay everything - money isn't going to come out of thin air so you need to understand that things will steadily improve, but there will be some months when you cannot meet your commitments to your creditors.

    Dear Sir/Madam

Re: my account - [account number here]

I write to request that you remove my work telephone number from your records and that you henceforth cease to contact me at work in respect of any dealings I may have with you. I would prefer to correspond with you only in writing.

I take this opportunity to remind you that paragraph 3.3k of the OFT's debt collection guidance says the following:

    '
3.3 Examples of unfair or improper practices are as follows:
    k. ignoring or disregarding debtors' reasonable requests in respect of when, where and how to contact them
    '

Your cooperation in this matter would therefore be appreciated. Should you choose to ignore my request, I will be forced to make a complaint.

Thank you in anticipation of your cooperation.

    Yours faithfully

Any way one, or both of you, can increase your earnings?

    Overtime?

    Second job?

I just worry about them phoning work more than anything else, as this could be the real spanner in the works rather than falling behind with my debts.

My family will always come first over these vultures, but i really need to get out of this immediate debt straight away as i am struggling to even very basically live now.

How many calls to work have you had so far?

Ahhh i see what your saying mate, sorry i read it wrong.
Yeah this is definetly the case this month. I will still sell playstation wen i get it back next week and use the money towards debt payments.

Il also ask step change to accept a token or no payment this month so i can pay this money towards my new debts and take immediate pressure off.

Thanks for the letter template. Very helpful. I feel a bit better about it all than i did earlier after being on here so thanks guys for the advice. Keep it coming

Yeah need to look into this properly re second job. No overtime available at minute. My gf is getting a pay rise soon but it means she has to be at work 5 days instead of 2 but our nusery fees are gonna go through the roof. So quite a sticky situation but must be a solution this.

If you have a large unexpected expence then Stepchange will accept areduced payment for that month or even allow you to miss a payment. That is definately worth doing as it means you could avoid taking out more credit. Unfotunately I did the same you before I realised this and am also paying off extra debts alongside my DMP. However it is manageable now and I have not taken out anything else for 10 months! This may sound pathetic but I am proud of this and should never have to resort to credit again because I have managed to finally save some money into an emergency fund.

I think in your position, the advice you were given earlier to stop paying all but essential bills, hit the nail on the head, from what you have written, you are in a pretty poor way financially, your 1st priority should be :

    (1) food on the table
    (2) essential bills paid
    (3) repay girlfriend/family
    (4) repay creditors

you need a firmer base from which to tackle this problem, and ceasing all credit payments and starting again, should be the way forward, all this borrowing from family and trying to sell stuff is just a side show, and of no use long term, stepchange will only help you tackle your debts, not your cash flow crisis, you need to take positive action on this now.
