    F11 or control panel, internet properties, advanced, reset internet explorer, ok

    backup

    Where would I find the Internet Properties? I have searched the Control Panel but it tells me this does not exist...I have no way of clicking on any of the tabs or icons on IE as they don't work.

    EDIT

    Found it! :)
  • control panel, choose Network & Internet, then Internet options, window will open, choose advanced tab at top
    Friendly greeting!

    Computer says no. :mad::mad::mad::mad:

    I try this and I get a pop up telling me to close all apps and so on. Everything is closed! I started the Task Master and manually closed them and even that didn't make any difference! There is a tab reading "why am I getting this message" but if I click on it nothing happens.

    I can't restore anything! It wont respond! This is driving me crazy!
  • go to windows update and check for updates?

    many times :(
    Have you actually done a Restart? (As opposed to just Shut Down and power on?) Windows 8 /8.1 doesn't actually properly turn off when you Shut Down.

    To do a full shut down, save all your work and close applications, and then try typing this in the <Windows>+<R> box:

    shutdown.exe /s /t 10

    Also, given you were doing stuff with the keyboard, is it possible that you have a stuck key? (Probably Alt/ Ctrl or similar.) Once you've switched off, I would try pressing all the keys on the bottom row several times in case it frees them.

    There is always a chance I could have clicked a key but seeing as I had both Chrome and IE up and running at the time and that Chrome seems to be untouched and running normally I am a but doubtful that any of the keys has gotten stuck. The Alt and Ctrl keys seem to be running fine as I've used these to start the task manager. I've closely inspected all of the F keys which to be honest I think could have been the only keys I may have tapped (though still can't see how if I was only wiping the rim of the keyboard with a cloth) but the keys seem fine and clicking on them doesn't seem to change anything on what seems to claiming to be IE.
