You have no automatic right to return anyway, from any store if you buy in person and not over the internet.0

Jeez, just chuck it in the bin.0

If the belt was not faulty you have no right to a refund under SOGA. Had it been faulty, eg, the buckle was damaged, then whatever the store policy, it cannot override statute. If you want proper advice, please consult a legal professional. I am not one! Thanks.0

I would stop using Poundland if I were you, you seem to have problems with their goods.

Just donate it to a charity shop and be done with it.0

PM me your mailing address and i'll send you a 50p in the post as compensation0

I'd keep it as a spare, you never know
or bung it on ebay . . .0 -
In principle, the retailer should respect any returns policy which they advertise.
Their website says "Poundland offers (at the sole discretion of the store manager) an exchange or refund on unopened items returned within 7 days of purchase."
So they have a get-out-of-jail-free card there!
Unless there was anything in store which indicated otherwise, I'm afraid they don't have to do anything.0 -
And you'll have probably spent more going back to the store than the belt cost in the first place!
Why do people not seem to engage their brains?0 -

Well I mean you are the one walking in to the shop and making a purchase so presumably you have read any terms and conditions they have on the website or by requesting it with a manager...
Also, the cashier who served you almost certainly doesn't know about the rules of making a 50p return, nor do they likely care enough to utter more than 5 words to anyone during a transaction in their 6.50 an hour job. They would probably (awkwardly) get you a manager if you wanted info before purchasing thoughIf unsure always ask, or just bin it. Sorry bro but it is more hassle than it is worth on this occasion
