Hi. I'm just filling in the 6.27/8 forms and have done the Ex160 for m husband as he has no income. I'm still confused though... I just calle the local court to ask what I need to bring for filing the petition only to be told that they can't tell me as they any advise and I should get independent legal advice??? When I asked I the bankers draft for the fees from my work union which is made out to HMCtS she said no! She told me I have to pay in cash
I can't do that and the union sent the draft made out to the courts for submission within 3 months. Then she said she doesn't normally deal with bankruptcy so she doesn't really know anyway. Feeling really lost now. I also don't have a termination notice from the IVA that failed last year, only the breach notice that they sent in November. Is that enough? I thought the stress was dropping but this is pushing it up again - already on beta blockers and anti anxiety pills through it all
So now just want to bin the forms and hide.
oh dear, it does sound as though you were talking to someone that doesn't know much about the process. The court officials cannot give you debt advice, but you weren't asking for that, were you!
What to take to court - there is a list here: http://debtcamel.co.uk/checklist-bankrupt/
Bankers draft for the fees - this is quite normal. You can't hand over a cheque drawn on your own bank account, but what you have is fine and it is how charities usually pay bankruptcy fees for people.
IVA termination - there you may have a problem. Contact the IP and say your husband is going bankrupt and you waould like a copy of the termination notice.0 -
23rd June for me. 9:30 am so hopefully it'll all be over by 10:30. My friend is coming along with me and then we're going to go for breakfast.
I wish it was sooner but I won't have the £700 until then.0 -

I just wanted to say Thank You for the good advice given the other day when I was having a meltdown over the paperwork.
For anyone else struggling there's a really good template sample of the 6.27 and 6.28 on the North East CAB site.
I'm all filled in now bar putting my IVA termination certificate with it and filling in the cash in hand bits on the day so hoping to get down to the court for the first bit and paying the fees on Thursday morning as they're only open from 10.00-11.00 weekdays for BR
Do you think I would be okay opening the basic bank account the same morning or should I delay the court visit and get the account opened with a few days' grace first? My payroll run date isnt until the 15th so as long as I tell work the new details before then my pay will change over - HMRC might take a bit longer to do the WTC which worries me as I get it weekly.........All of my views are my own

It's possible as it's a public forum, anyone can read! As long as you are upfront and honest with your OR, you will be fine!
Good luck with everything! I went bankrupt last June and am about to be discharged, the year has flown by :j

Pop your name on here, the date that you went/are going Bankrupt. Then just keep everyone in the club updated throughout the next year about your BR journey. That way you can all stick together, compare notes and be there to support each other during the different stages of your Bankruptcies.
Remember this is your board so keep posting :hello:
