Unfortunately I live in Worcester now, but I still call Chepstow home and I'm back regularly :)
It's funny to think we might already know each other in RL though, 6 degrees of separation and all that!

I thought T's was much better when it had the restaurant, 'tekkie brekkie' got me through my A levels :rotfl:

Looks like I'm not going to get my bargain maltesers, the choccie deal has been expired on HUKD.

I know, it was a sad day indeed when they refurbished it :(

I used to work over the road (in the offices next to the Beaufort) so we used to be in there regularly (T's and the Beaufort :rotfl:)

Thanks for the ideas. We love second handbooks, and castles. We nearly stayed in Hay itself, but I remember Monmouth as being lovely, or it was, 15 years ago! Our nearest pub will be the Inn at Pennallt, 10 minutes walk away from where we stay, which sounds good. We have been to all the big castles, but it was a while ago, and we will have to revisit some again. I am particulary liking the quirky suggestions of places to visit. Thanks everyone!

Hi, I was in M&S Monmouth at Easter, I'm not 100% sure, but I think there were SS tills. It's a really small store, but IIRC there were a couple of manned tills and a couple of SS? Have a vague recollection of someone pushing in front of us in the SS queue, so we went to manned till instead :).There is also a nice Waitrose pretty much nextdoor (well, nextdoor from the back of the store, a few doors down on the high street), so don't forget your Waitrose card for free hot drinks :)

I'm pretty sure it was her as she came tripping into the kitchen with a marigold in her mouth. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

It does worry me sometimes that the people who work in the banks often don't seem to be as bright as I would wish them to be, and yet they're the ones holding onto my cash!

I thought it was ironic that when we had the initial mortgage meetings they were saying 'well, just so you realise, if you don't overpay then you'll have this mortgage for 40 years' and making it sound like they were looking out for our best interests, and yet in reality they'd love it if we took 40 years to pay it back, as we'd have paid nearly 3 times what the house is worth by then!

I'm with you on the razor front, I got 2 boxes of venus fancy ones RTC £1-odd instead of £16 in T a few months back, nothing wrong with them apart from the boxes having split slightly! :T

p.s. this will be our new kitchen (minus the green walls!) http://www.housetohome.co.uk/product-idea/picture/budget-kitchens-10-of-the-best/6 We got 20% off and £20 off every £100 spend, so it's a bargain! It's not my 'forever' kitchen because it's not my 'forever' house, but it will make a nice chance from green and green with green on top!

    40 years

Oooh I like the kitchen will keep that URL and show Mr b. Our kitchen quite small, I would like an extension so it matches house. Previous owners turned 2 bed in 4 and the kitchen let's it down a bit. We going to give it a tart up till we decide.

Keeps us out of mischief xx
