Seriously though I think you are doing what has to be done. I am sure he will become less withdrawn after living in the FC household for a while.
A house full of love is the best upbringing for a child regardless of how crazy the house is.
Is he having to change schools?

Schools......He was living in Scotland, which means the term was due to finish in less than a month for Summer. Schools work slightly differently in Scotland and he would have been due to start in 4th year (year 10 here) on Monday.
He's obviously one year into his standard grade (GCSE) subjects. TBH, the timing made the decision easier and gives us a bit of leeway to see how things pan out. He essentially won't be missing much in the way of school for now and I'm off myself for summer very soon.
I have been in touch with his school briefly on Friday and they will be contacting me on Monday to discuss things further. I can't see the harm in him working through the next few weeks work here and then having his summer break as normal. He's extremely bright and, his school tells me, well organised where his school work is concerned.
Hopefully at some point through the summer, it will become clearer whether his stay is going to be a short one, or something more permanent and I'll take things from there.0 -
