He's obviously one year into his standard grade (GCSE) subjects. TBH, the timing made the decision easier and gives us a bit of leeway to see how things pan out. He essentially won't be missing much in the way of school for now and I'm off myself for summer very soon.
I have been in touch with his school briefly on Friday and they will be contacting me on Monday to discuss things further. I can't see the harm in him working through the next few weeks work here and then having his summer break as normal. He's extremely bright and, his school tells me, well organised where his school work is concerned.
Hopefully at some point through the summer, it will become clearer whether his stay is going to be a short one, or something more permanent and I'll take things from there.

I was in Chilly-Jocko-Land:D about a month ago (visiting friends and holidaying), when I arrived I asked what the weather was like, and one of my Scottish-resident friends said said the weather had been really good recently - "Warm enough to sit outside!":rotfl:'It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.'

I personally haven't had fuschias with leaves that colour, but there are literally hundreds of different varieties....the buds look unmistakably fuschia like though. The leaves look healthy enough. You must do another pic when they bloom0 -
