Is there a USB adaptor made to accept a standard SIM to give internet access to laptops?

Ok lets start at the beginning :-
What package are you on with 3 ?
When did you take out package as it has a bearing on what you can & can not do tethering/wifi hot spot wise ?
  • Also what sort of phone do you have ?

Often a phone can generate a WiFi hotspot or be connected to a computer via a lead or Bluetooth.

However "3" are quite keen on stopping you using phone data with a computer unless they explicitly allow it.
