Just check your rate includes CDW - some of these car hire reward clubs are aimed at business customers who have their own insurance, or Americans who can often get CDW coverage through their credit card. Excess insurance won't cover you if there is no CDW at all included! (they usually have a limit of a few thousand - far less than the value of a car).

At the bottom of that page linked to it says this

You may be requested to present your copy of the Brit Guide in order to qualify for your rental at time of pick up.

Those rates are cheapest i have seen that include an extra driver but the above has me worried
Well you could just buy the book, it only costs about £15 on Amazon. That would save any worry. I do own a copy if the book but I've never been asked for it by Alamo.

I don't have a current Brit's Guide to anything but my 2001 Las Vegas edition has some vouchers - not for Alamo - but none have expiry dates...so charity shop or ebay might be other alternatives.

Provided that you can get this benefit while also using a UK 3rd party so all insurance waivers are included like zagfles says...pricing up on a US site may bring back a lower price but without any of this coverage.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Ferf I usually use carhire3000 or one of the other brokers,(as you know) but for my upcoming trip a full size with additional driver is about £300, with that alamo brit offer it comes down to less than £250.

Is there something I am missing? it looks like the same insurances are included
