You can install truecrypt on the memory stick. Only disadvantage is that you need administrator priviledges (I believe) on any pc you use it on.Would I have to have Truecrypt or what ever encryption software I use on every pc I move my memory stick to."She is quite the oddball. Since yesterday, I have been trying to master WinZip folders. I have now managed to create and password protect zipped folders.
When I add a folder with several sub folders inside, save it then open the zip file all the files are in one long list. How can I open the zip file and see all the sub folders.
Sorry if I’m not explaining this properly.0 -
I use TrueCrypt on my memory stick it's excellent. You create an encrypted volume, and when logging onto a pc, mount that volume as a drive letter (ie F:\)
Then when you're finished just unmount it. Excellent piece of free software, I use it for any personal data."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -
Gryphon, when you open the add files window, should be a tick box - "Use Folder Names", this will "folderise" your files in the zip.0

I have managed to create a volume on my memory stick mounting and un-mounting ok. It’s when I go to a different pc from my main one that I can’t open.0 -

Ah in the sense that the other pc doesn't have TrueCrypt?
You can just put TrueCrypt on your usb stick. If you download TrueCrypt, put all the files in a folder called, say TrueCrypt on your usb pen. Then when you need it on another pc, run TrueCrypt via that folder, and mount your volume as normal."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -
I am trying this at work at the moment and the trouble I’m having is when I move pc’s it’s saying I have to be an administrator to open. Any way of getting round this.0

Ah....no. You need admin rights to use TrueCrypt. I think SS mentioned it above.
You could ask work to allow it, or install it for you to use."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -
